Hi All,
I couldn't see a new thread yet, so thought I'd start one for July. The jacket potato is a marker for starting summer off on a frugal note. :).

NSD so far.

I didn't pay for the costume yesterday as the mum wasn't at dancing. £12.50 yesterday in Tesco, including shoe laces needed for the kid's white pumps for Joseph (Primark only had white with pink laces), plus some biscuits and stuff and lunch.

Today £7.50 for bag of veg for lunch, some crisps and popcorn, second pair of shoe laces (2 DC in show next week).

Someone up thread asked about activities for DC. Did you mean in the school holidays or generally?

I have just booked holiday club for DS and DD1 for 4 days each across the holidays. £29 each less 10% discount. Used my remaining child care vouchers (leaving about £25)

For the first 2 weeks of the holidays they are at theatre Tuesday/ Thursday/ Saturday. Swimming lesson once a week as usual.

Normally they have swimming lesson once a week, Spanish lesson once a week, DD1 does karate once a week, but missing them at the moment due to show rehearsals. DS and DD1 have dancing twice a week and DD2 once a week.

ohhelp oh dear, you poor thing, filling with the wrong petrol is a permanent worry of mine. A couple of years ago when I did a lot of driving for work, I had a diesel car but DH had a petrol one and as I've mentioned before, his car is permanently empty so on the odd occasion I had to fill his up I would check about 20 times before I started that I was using the right nozzle! Then the next time I would have to fill up mine, my paranoia would be bad again. What a horrible day for you though Flowers

Audit how exciting that your kids are in Joseph, I love that musical. The costumes and other bits sound very expensive though. When DD did her dancing shows (just local ones) the hair bits and tights etc all added up.

£18 in primark yesterday on a couple of t-shirts for me and a couple of vest tops for DD. Hoping for a LSD today.

Reading all the posts about the cost of entertaining the DC in the holidays reminds me of when DD was little - I used to spend loads of literally nothing, just keeping her occupied. Rest assured though, when they get to the teenage years, in this respect it gets cheaper - they tend to entertain themselves on their computers or having friends over to play games, you are no longer needed as entertainment manager, just provide a few cheap snacks. I remember drawing out cash and a few days later thinking what I had spent it on as I had nothing at all to show for it.

£1 on stationary for work and 60p on a travel mug.

Iamnotanugget · 16/07/2014 16:29

£8.65 on fruit. £14 on school uniform, ordered through topcashback so can expect about 57p back, still it all helps. I just need to get plimsolls.

Have drawn up budget for the rest of the month. It's tight but 3 weeks pain will get us back on an even keel. I doubt we'll manage to stick to it completely but I'm really going to try. I don't want this small debt hanging around for months.

Fluffycloudland77 · 16/07/2014 17:08

Very exciting spotty, do you love it? I thought mine was the most perfect dress in the world.

I do love a wedding.

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2014 17:14

Yes I do. I loved all the ones I tried on but this one the most. It's off the peg but I don't care it's perfect for a winter wedding Smile

Passthecake30 · 16/07/2014 17:50

Exciting Spotty!

Nsd as dd has a raging 40c temp so I have been stuck inside and I even resisted Internet shopping. ..

NK5BM3 · 16/07/2014 19:36

Hi spotty! How exciting!! Will you be able to describe it?? (Nosy I know!!).

NSD. Oh, those of you interested in going to Paris etc on Eurostar, they are having a promotion for kids to go £1 each way. Yup. I was so cross. I rang them. Long story short they agreed to that, but I still needed to pay £30 admin fee but since the original price of the child ticket was £45, I still regained £28. Yay. (Would have been good to regain £88!!).

Anyway....

SpottyTeacakes · 16/07/2014 19:38

Hope dd feels better soon passthecake.

this is the dress looks better irl. So sparkly!

Thanks for the link Fluffy Smile

AuditAngel · 16/07/2014 23:37

£7.29 buying lunch, tonight's dinner, one more ready meal and a pack of sweets.

Need to fill the car (again) as travelling to both Portsmouth and Southampton tomorrow.

Delaying buying tickets for Joseph as was told they are going to do a special offer for the parents. Told DD1's naturally curly hair isn't curly enough, so now have to go and buy bendy rollers and setting lotion (and send her to school on Tuesday in rollers!) will hit the pound shop/super drug on Saturday.

AdoraBell · 17/07/2014 00:40

£93 at the clinic to check DD2's eye, she has an infection so more spent in the pharmacy but not sure how much as DH picked the prescription up.

Gave DD1 £10 of her pocket money - Bank of Mum has very stringent restrictions relating to withdrawals - she's going out with friends tomorrow.

Will catch up later.

AdoraBell · 17/07/2014 00:56

Fabulous dress.

Even DH is giggling at your link NK Grin

Sixforgold · 17/07/2014 06:53

Blush Thanks I need to buy some big underwear to go with it!

Nsd today as I'm carless. It's going into the garage to have the central locking fixed (hopefully!)

NK5BM3 · 17/07/2014 07:03

Adora - when I read it, I thought of us here immediately!! Grin

Should be an NSD today. It was an NSD yesterday too.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 17/07/2014 07:24

NK well done! I'd have gone nuclear, DH is rubbish at complaining so it's always me shouting myself hoarse complaining reasonably on the phone. Just got a cheque for £112 from Scottish Power as a result of latest campaign though Grin That'll teach them. Or not. Hmm

spotty that dress is stunning! I am Envy I want to get married all over again just looking at it.
