I am about to create my first budget ready for a new payday tomorrow. Spent £29.10 on a prescription pre-payment but it should save me over the three months.

I am 41, so 29 is definitely not old! Belated Happy Birthday!

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 24/06/2014 13:02

Dh left my laptop open in front of visitors with MN open and my nickname visible - was MissAismyhero before.

Passthecake30 · 24/06/2014 13:09

Been shopping. ...

Saves-

  • £5.53 on fuel save filling up tank at tescos
  • swimming costume bought in next size up for dd £3 on sale
  • checkout smart 50p tescos and free sea Brooks crisps (if it works! )

Splurge

  • £22 on a new look dress for casual/home, 2 tops from next £32 for work, summer clothes done! I can't get good bargains on clothes as have an awkward shape (tall and skinny). Tried on a couple of bikinis and looked like a porn star (30ff) so left them behind. ..don't think I needed the padding!
Iamnotanugget · 24/06/2014 13:22

Happy birthday for yesterday MissA. I fell pregnant soon after my 29th birthday. I felt like a young mum but I know I wasn't considered one. Recently turned 36. The 3dc have physically aged me about 15 years but I don't feel any older than I did at 29.

Cadbury thanks for the link. I think I'll wait a few more days in case Disney restock and then go with those. Although the cake topper looked great and much easier

nk well done! I'd get dull sainsbury/asda vouchers but use them to free up a little cash for a small treat if that makes sense.

£4.95 on stock cubes and nappy liners. 5p thrown in the fountain making wishes

AdoraBell · 24/06/2014 13:57

annie I was Shock 33 when I had my twinsGrin we were overseas so there was none of that geriatric terminology.

I'd be inclined to do what nugget suggested re vouchers, and well done NK

Not sure how today will pan out, CBA going out really.

CoolCadbury · 24/06/2014 14:13

Ahem, I was 40 when I had DS. Geriatic? Some days, yes Grin

silkknickers · 24/06/2014 15:22

I'm 42

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 24/06/2014 15:49

I am 34 funny as youngest at work other than one of our assistants who is 30 this yr

When night nannying I have either been roughly same age or younger than the parents although think that will slowly change :)

SpottyTeacakes · 24/06/2014 16:01

I'm 27 (only just though but I still feel 18 and a bit of a fraud doing all this grown up stuff!)

deepbluetr · 24/06/2014 16:06

I am 52, but feel 22!

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/06/2014 16:09

NSD.

I'm 37.

Oh yes nsd here too. You can tell it's almost pay day as my acct is at a few pence and the bill acct is in the low hundreds. This is, however, a massive improvement from when I first joined when both accts would have been in the red.

NK5BM3 · 24/06/2014 18:30

I'm nearly 41 (in a couple of weeks!). Thanks everyone for suggestions. I was keen on Amazon or Sainsburys or m&s. I'd say the latter two are the places I shop most at when I'm not frugalling in Aldi!! Still undecided. Need to tell MN soon before they forget about me! Grin

ValiumQueen · 24/06/2014 19:22

43 when I had DS. He is 1.5 now. I am geriatric for sure Confused

PinkSquash · 24/06/2014 20:01

LSD for me today, skipped toddlers as DS2 wanted to play outside so that saved £1 and we went to the library for books and spent £3 on the bus fare home. DS1 spent £5 on Loom bands, I have no idea what we're supposed to do with them and I feel seriously old- I used to pick up these fads easily. I'm 28 but for the first time in my adult life I feel a lot younger than I am. I think I've regressed Grin

Having a MassiveSD tomorrow- have to go and sort out a remortgage with the bank but although our payments will increase, we will be fixed again for 2 years so we know exactly what we will be spending.

threedeer · 24/06/2014 20:14

Two NSDs in a row here, just working from home and going for a run, eating food we already have in.

PeoniesforMissAnnersley · 24/06/2014 20:31

NSD today, apart from Alex Tech lesson which was pre-paid. Might need to grab some chicken for sandwiches tomorrow as need to bring a pack tea to work (going on school trip!) but have wraps, salad, fruit and cake all in already so it'll be an LSD.

Payday tomorrow too, phew! It's been a spendy month and I'm nose to the wire money wise, but haven't gone into new debt or OD etc.

SpottyTeacakes · 24/06/2014 20:49

I might have to do a tesco online shop this week instead of going to lidl Sad it's goodwood festival of speed and we don't usually leave the house as the roads get so gridlocked. Hmm...

Passthecake30 · 24/06/2014 21:21

Frugal win at school sports day and fair. ...lots of pennies spent on bbq, raffles etc but then a few pounds donation for some 2nd hand school uniform for dd ...she is too young to know/care atm

Frugal dinner of hm pizzas from left over French stick that I'd put in freezer, chips and salad.

Makingchanges · 24/06/2014 22:22

Been so busy over last few days just trying to catch up. I'm 34 for whoever was asking but as we get closer to the end if term feeling much older.

£32.55 spent on weekly shop on sunday. very close to shopping list and not pay day until wednesday. nsd both yesterday and today. Tomorrow is the first time we won't have had 2 wages coming in and I'm really worried about it.

FantaSea · 24/06/2014 22:30

Passthecake good idea to get some second hand uniform. When DD started school, I got quite a few bits second - hand, things like logo cardigans and fleeces. The logo stuff her school supplied was such low quality that even when brand new, after a few washes looked the same as the second hand stuff. I also used to get her summer dresses in the next size for the following year in the summer sales - my best bargain were dresses in Tesco for £1.50 each Grin

LSD today - just some rolls for lunch.

CremeEggThief · 24/06/2014 22:35

£8.57 in Lidl and £16.70 on a pub meal out, but I was a bit naughty and put that on my credit card!

I'm 36 btw.

AdoraBell · 24/06/2014 23:31

Spotty well done keeping those accounts in the black.

Also well done to MissAnnersley

Spent another £34 including a secret friend gift for DD1's class, DD2 is waiting until next week.

DH has some money coming through at last and he seems to have woken up to the fact that he spends too much when it's available. I think he never thought he'd go so long without producing income.

Tomorrow I'm going out just to go out, iyswim, will be an LSD. Might have coffee with a friend.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/06/2014 06:39

My bank balance said balance £90 something available £0.64 so I thought there was something waiting to come out but actually it was cheques waiting to clear Grin WIN

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/06/2014 07:07

adorabell I have the same tendency too, that's why I stay on here. I'm relieved you have some money coming in.
