Thought I'd start a new thread for April Smile

possibly whereabouts in Devon are you, if you can say without outing yourself!

BoffinMum · 11/04/2014 21:47

I deliberately didn't take DH so we avoided the aisle of dreams in Aldi, and also the beer aisle, and the trolley wasn't even completely full. I was Shock.

BoffinMum · 11/04/2014 21:48

In other news I have just done an Approved Food order and saved something like £50 on general stocking up.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/04/2014 07:02

£10 yesterday of fuel.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2014 07:09

I'm really excited as my sister and bil are coming for lunch today. They live a few hours away so we haven't seen them since Christmas. So I've got a food shop being delivered instead of going to lidl just to make life easier

lilacclery · 12/04/2014 07:38

Enjoy spottuteacakes
I may just have spent almost €80 in Littlewoods sale on my credit account ... 4 pairs jeans & twin pack of black trousers for work. I will only keep all 4 pairs of jeans if I love them. Replenishing wardrobe for return to work in two weeks

NK5BM3 · 12/04/2014 07:49

Got back super late last night... For work reasons... Paid parking £12, train to London with family £44, lunch £60, cakes £10... Scary... Think I will return the dress from last week. Hmm

BoffinMum · 12/04/2014 07:52

Is it me, or is Aldi actually getting quite expensive? I am finding it has crept up and as you don't get any price promises with them you are never quite sure about the value.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/04/2014 08:31

Aldi prices have gone up in the past 3 years but it depends what you buy, if you put your receipt into mysupermarket.co.uk it puts it into perspective.

Any upcoming free days on your book?

BoffinMum · 12/04/2014 08:58

I have just done a Sainsbo shop for next weekend via Mysupermarket.com as I do wonder if they have got more competitive lately. They have given me a free delivery pass too, so might as well use it.

The Austerity Housekeeping book just had a free day on Amazon, but it's due another one on Good Friday - look from about lunchtime onwards. Interestingly there's a new development on the book front. Ch 4 SuperScrimpers emailed me yesterday after having been quiet for a while, and offered to link to some of my material on their relaunched website (which is very good, by the way, worth a detour), so that might spread the word a bit.

BTW I had an epic storage fail recently. I had written 2/3 of my Austerity Parenting book and managed to lose the BOTH backup copy and the USB stick with it on. Never normally do things like that, so slightly demoralised. May actually have inadvertently laundered the USB stick a while back, thinking about it. Sad Domestic Superwoman I am not. Grin

BoffinMum · 12/04/2014 08:59

Sorry, meant to post link to SuperScrimpers site;

BoffinMum · 12/04/2014 08:59

Let's try that again. Need coffee.

BoffinMum · 12/04/2014 09:00

OK, wasn't me, must be gremlins at MNHQ. Link does actually seem to work.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/04/2014 09:12

Boffins book, free next Friday

BoffinMum · 12/04/2014 09:20

Cheers.
And it's also free on all the bank holidays in April and May, from lunchtime on each day for about 24 hours.

Check out my blog post on cheapie cinema trips as well. I did this the other day just before going off to the Lego Movie, which was extremely enjoyable (I went with low expectations). The popcorn was Vair Tasty, if I say so myself.

Cheap cinema trips and home made popcorn

A tip - if you do print off Tesco club card vouchers for Cineworld, check your spam filter, as the vouchers have a nasty habit of being swallowed up there, apparently. Do not spend the 30 minute delivery window panicking you will not have them in time for the film, like we did Wink

BoffinMum · 12/04/2014 09:21

If I can gird my loins and rewrite the Austerity Parenting book, what would everyone like to see in there?

This post was one of the original bits of text.

where should my baby sleep?

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2014 10:04

£71.38 tesco delivery. Under budget and got lots of yummy food Grin

lilacclery · 12/04/2014 16:55

Well I used 2 x €10 off €50 in aldi today & spent another €35 in tesco-€10 on shampoo & conditioner as I've gone to being a redhead so gotta mind it with good shampoo.

That's us sorted for about ten days except for a few bits on the butchers, I will be using my €10 off €50 Lidl shop next week but hopefully that's all I'll spend there.

I hate grocery shopping but I hate it more when dh does it so catch 22 situation.

Used a voucher in debenhams to buy ds a lovely outfit & dd a nice tshirt, I LOVE spending vouchers!

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/04/2014 17:04

£85 on sandals.

I know what your thinking Adora, and yes they are dipped in gold Wink

I will be more frugal with other purchases .

SpottyTeacakes · 12/04/2014 17:15

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 12/04/2014 17:29
