Due to job loss I cannot pay the minimum payment on my credit card. I have offered a payment of £5 a week but this has been refused. What can I do now?

Go to Step Change for advice. They are fantastic. Good luck.

Agreed. Credit card companies will be much more inclined to agree a payment plan if they can see you've sat down with a debt advice organisation to work out your budget, look at ways of increasing your income and prioritise your debts.

rallytog1 · 24/02/2014 19:06

Oh, and don't go to an organisation that charges for debt advice. Step change, cab, cap etc are all free.

Nerfmother · 24/02/2014 19:06

Come and find some moral support on the massive debt thread

MrsWickens · 26/02/2014 09:45

Thank you for replying. I will definitely look at the debt advice organisations. Am trying desperately to find another job so that I can just pay this card off and forget I ever had it! Never again!
