As we filled the old thread, thought I'd start a new one for February.

No fees tomorrow on eBay for 5 day auction listings. Good for sellers but also good for buyers if you look on 16th there may be some bargains due to all the extra listings. I'm sure that's why I got bargains yesterday (a week after the free weekend)

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 10/02/2014 08:18

freelance oooh thanks! Am going to do one last blast on eBay, might as well do it tomorrow if I have time. Have decided I don't like anything most things I own enough to want to be in debt because of them. Am going to list everything that isn't nailed down.

MissAnnersleyismyhero · 10/02/2014 08:19

What would a slightly scatty, bearded DH (plays guitar, bakes bread and cooks a mean curry) fetch, do we think? Grin

FreelanceMama · 10/02/2014 08:24

Does anyone shop at Waitrose? Are they horribly expensive? We're probably moving later this year from a small city with all the big and budget supermarkets to a large village about 15 miles away and this is their only (small) supermarket. But they do have a farmers market and bakers, etc. Will be a totally different way of shopping to our weekly mega trolley visit.

FreelanceMama · 10/02/2014 08:26

MissAnnersley ooh MumsNet DP/DH slave auction?!

Ellisisland · 10/02/2014 09:34

Hopefully a not to bad day money wise here. Have to go into town on my lunch break to put a cheque in and get some fruit (DS eats bananas like crazy)

Had to put petrol in the car this morning £10
Fruit spend Grin £4

Have a free veg box coming on Wednesday then hoping to do a very minimal shop on Thursday. Just get some bits for DS birthday on Monday

Hope everyone is ok in the weather it's still awful here in Wiltshire Hmm

Thebluedog · 10/02/2014 10:30

In some respects a crap weekend, and in others it wasn't too bad.

Only 25 in Aldi for this weeks shop and I'm at my mums next week which should mean I don't need to go again for 2 weeks, but we did eat out in Saturday 16 quid and had to grab some misc stuff which came to 16 also, so 30 qui we prob could have avoided, that said I think, as a family we needed a bit of a break as we've spent absolutely nothing apart from essentials since the start of Jan.

This months we've also had a 160 to repair the boiler, 105 for caravan storage and 120 for van tax. We've also managed to save a few quid so I'm fairly happy. Going onto the clothes thread, I've still not bought anything since Xmas Smile

Next month (well next payday) will be 100 for my speeding fine HmmHmmHmmHmmHmm muppet!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/02/2014 11:11

Freelance it is expensive but yummy! They brand match tesco and their essentials range is excellent.

£5 something on postage for eBay items. Used boots points for more calpol.

Ellisisland · 10/02/2014 11:48

Well my low spend day just shot up! Wanted to book a place for DS on a local rugby tots class next term. Just checked out the website and there was only one space available so had to book and am now £113 lighter Shock that's paid until the end of May though and includes a little kit which he will look adorable in Grin
Paid on the credit card but will clear that with money from DS account. I put money in there each month for things like this so I guess it's not too bad.

ilovepicnmix · 10/02/2014 13:21

freelance I understand that if you get a loyalty card you get 10% off their value range.

Spent 3 last night on an offer I saw on ukhotdeals for posh chocolates. Am panicking slightly though as the payment went through without actually stating the amount. If it is 3 then it'll be a bargain.

5 today on DS's first haircut. he looks like a proper wee boy now (wibble)

FreelanceMama · 10/02/2014 13:23

Was a NSD with me ill at home but then garage called and MOT plus repairs and tyres is 250. And two cans of soup - 1.90

Hearing my DS say his name for the first time and laugh with delight - priceless

Thanks spotty.

expectingnumber3 · 10/02/2014 13:29

NSD yesterday and today. Hope I can keep it up for a few more days too, although will have to go to Aldi for milk, bananas and a few other bits at some point.

Both dd's have got colds and I think they may well be off school tomorrow so that will keep me out of the shops too! We are suffering with the floods here and the pipes in the village have given up the ghost flooding the roads with sewage. Walking to school is revolting so not going in would be lovely.

Dark, how are the capes going? How many have you got to make?
Jadle, I am so jealous of your saving! I dream of that! Can't wait until the day I can check my bank balance and smile rather than weep!

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2014 16:31

NSD, third in a row. It's really made me think about how much I spend on little bits here and there.

I do need to refund £10 to an eBay buyer, I cannot find the item they bought anywhere but I haven't actually purchased anything.

£20 in morrisons vouchers came through today so hopefully my big shop this week will be £10-15. Phew.

Turnoffthelights · 10/02/2014 16:34

NSD today (think that's 6/28) but cheating a little as I need to get petrol but thought I'd wait until tomorrow or the next day if possible when il very well need to get milk too!

Spend-ish weekend. Away at relatives leaving-do. £1.85 coffee on motorway. £24 on drinks. £1.50 parking. Tried to be frugal by taking a packed lunch for Saturday, avoiding paying toll by planning an alternative route and eating so much at breakfast that we cancelled our plans to stop for lunch on the way home on Sunday!

I thought February was supposed to be a short month?! I'm feeling the pinch already. My personal spends is already nearly depleted and I have a meal out with work booked for Saturday. Whatever I spend will have to be taken off march's personal budget. Have also had to book car into garage next week to get a rattly sound checked out. Hopefully a reasonably priced rattly sound!

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2014 17:47

Found my eBay item! Well at least one good things happened today.

Poor eBay buyer Sad

AmberSpyglass · 10/02/2014 18:56

I spent a quid on parking today, then 4 quid buying stupidly over priced hot chocolate for me and ice cream for DD at the park. Tried to get her a minimilk but they were out so had to pay nearly 2 quid on a cone instead. My hot choc was medicinal, ive got a stinking cold and feel utterly rotten. DD has a tantrum in the park and I was all achey and I just couldbt cope without something warm and chocolatey inside me!

ItalianWiking84 · 10/02/2014 19:07

Just as a FYI, if anybody else is pregnant or have a little one, Tesco have baby clothes on sale, like 50-75 % off, and have loads of really nice baby clothes. I have bought loads today, hihi, but only paid 31,75 pounds for like 30 different kind of clothes, leggings, jeans, dresses, blouses and more :)

NK5BM3 · 10/02/2014 19:39

Freelance - we occasionally shop at waitrose (we used to do it quite often!) and the prices are quite expensive for things like fruit and veg. Seriously before I got out of the fruit aisle I was already £6 down. Then again I'm comparing to Aldi prices. The good thing is their meat quality is great so if you usually shop at tesco et all then it's great and they price match too. Plus if you get the my waitrose card, you get a free coffee/tea everyday as well as a newspaper. We got a paper yesterday - haven't read one in ages and didn't realise it was £2.50!!! So that was saved.

And with the waitrose card you get 10% off quite a lot of the regular stuff. So it's ok.

NK5BM3 · 10/02/2014 19:39

NSD!!

delasi · 10/02/2014 20:06

Freelance Waitrose might also deliver to you from the store - the reason I mention that is they do something like £70-75 off across 5 shops placed online. So you do your first online shop as normal, then the second you get £10 off, third is £15 off etc until you get to £25 off (or thereabouts). There is a timeline in which to do it, iirc it works out doing a shop every 1-2 weeks, but I've seen this offer running for a couple of years now so it seems to be a regular thing. Worth keeping an eye out.

FreelanceMama · 10/02/2014 20:06

Cheers NK5 I'm hoping to reduce my hours when we move so I'll have more time for mealplanning, baking, going to more than one shop, etc. That's the dream anyway!

FreelanceMama · 10/02/2014 20:10

delasi thanks that's a good tip. BTW, every time I see your name I get that Thomas O'Malley song in my head from "Aristocats" (In my head it's "Abraham Delasi, Giuseppi Casey...")but I'm sure you pronounce it differently!

delasi · 10/02/2014 20:17

Freelance Haha! I just picked random sounds when creating my name (I lack imagination Grin). But now I'm going to be looking out for it in Aristocats!

Ememem84 · 10/02/2014 20:43

Grand total of 65p spent today on emergency kitkat.

Feeling smug. Took lunch into work. Studied at lunchtime. Persuaded colleague they owed me a fancy coffee...(they did actually owe me)
