So we all know the basic ones:

Take advantage of the free activities fun in your local museums and libraries.

Visit the local parks as much as possible

Take a picnic and water bottles instead of buying food and drink when out and about.

Can you think of any other good advice?

Do you know of any other good tips for cheaper days out?

Do you know of any local cheap events that might help other MN'ers?

Plenty of playdates round at people's houses (take in turn to host)

Look on internet for for special offers before going anywhere.

Use Tesco clubcard vouchers.

If going on train with a 3/4 year old, apparently it is cheaper to say they are 5 than just to pay for adult tickets as you can get family ticket Confused. Sounds odd to me, but that's what I was told at ticket office last time.

Keep ice creams in freezer rather than buying from ice cream van.

Museum of Childhood (Bethnal Green) is a great free day out.
