What could I sell an unopened gift box containing Marc Jacobs perfume, small size perfume & a shower gel for? Unwanted gift from Dh a little while ago but I don't know what to list it for? Have looked on eBay but there are no others the same. Any ideas? Stab in the dark guesses?

could try gumtree and facebook selling sites too (if you can put up with some of the crap on them)

Ebay is so fickle lizard. I've seen tat go for £££'s and the good stuff go for buttons. Is there a local FB Things for sale page in your area? Saves selling fees and postage etc. If you're keen on Ebay then just start at 99p and hope for the best

I always start at 99p, as you're likely to get more bidders then. When you really make money is when they get into a bidding war IMO. They start off thinking "bargain!" when it's only 99p, then they get hooked!

It's a risk of course, but I reckon it pays off on the whole.

Yes have sold some bits & bobs on local selling sites & there is a mums group I am also a member off where I've just managed to sell the baby bath seat we never used- handy I kept the box for it.

Hunting around to see what else I can find to sell. My bank balance is very looking & it seems as though I am going to charged for going over my OD by £2 so things are pretty crap.

I always start at £2-5 so I'm not that disappointed. I used to do 99p but after selling too many items for that it didn't seem worth it.

Also remember with Ebay - if you are classed as a new seller, Paypal will not release your funds for 21 days, so you can actually end up money down due to postage in the short term.
They do release the money if positive feedback is recieved, but not all buyers do this, even with good items

If you can get £2 into the bank asap and then phone them you may be able to get them to waive the charge. Has worked for me in the past (although not every time!)

Thank you for all of your tips. I've intro finally gone a bit more into the OD now :(as there was another payment that came out. Barclays charge a referral fee or something for using another allowance over your OD

I'm a ebayer member of old so can withdraw the payments once they are made thankfully. Lots of watchers on each item so fingers crossed this is a good sign & they turn into bidders!

Waiting for overtime to be paid from last month & will be working more this month so will NOT be getting in this situation again.
