Hi everyone,
just after some tips. Aldi? any good? In a bid to drastically reduce our food bill which currently waivers from between £80 - £120 I thought I would try Lidl or Aldi. Aldi always seems busy and our local Lidl always seems really quiet. If i choose Aldi than what products are the best? thankyou

i would recommend the following from Aldi

all their biscuits (especially their ginger nuts)
pasta
ready made puff pastry (100% than jus roll and cheaper)
tinned beans
tinned carrots
tinned mushy peas
their large pack of minced beef (Really tasty compared to other supermarket cheaper brands)
washing up liquid is pretty good
kitchen roll (4 pack)

We go to Lidl as don't have an Aldi near us.

Chorizo
Creme fraiche
Fruit
Veg
Tinned tomatoes
Kidney beans
Meat
cleaning stuff
Shampoo
Ham
Bread and bread flour

I pretty much do my entire shop there.

My LIDL is closer than Aldi so I tend to go there. Largely as fivegomadindorset said - they're particularly good on cold meats (try their Continental brands), I would go there to buy their cottage cheese and red grapes by choice even if they weren't cheaper and I'm a great fan of their ice-cream.

What sort of grocery list do you normally have?
