our local librarys have free activities over the summer, DSC are signed up for t-shirt printing, old fashioned playground games, olympic crafts and a wizard crafts and stories session.
B&Q have childrens diy sessions that are free in August, DSS is signed up for wooden boat making and tool box making.
We also have free swimming for under 16`s
Junk modelling competition, cardboard boxes, tubes, yogurt pots etc, challange them to make a robot/animal/machine etc
t-shirt decorating, old t-shirt and felt tip pens
write a story and turn it into a book complete with pictures (photographs of dc doing whatever the book is about)
wooden spoon puppets, spoons are cheap and they can decorate with bits of material, pens, googly eyes, tin foil, buttons etc.
chalking in the garden, we get many hours of enjoyment out of chalking on the fence, path, patio even wall and it just washes off with the hose
water painting, cup of water and paintbrush and paint on fence, wall etc
Stone painting, go for a walk and find a big smooth stone to paint on which can be used as paperweights
