I have just had my second delivery from approved food and it's amazing. We are having a tight few months and trying to live as frugaly as possible so food has been ok but no treats. For £45 I have managed to re stock the cupboards with loads of essentials such a cous cous, pasta, lentil, bean mixes for soups, thai curry paste, soy sause etc and have some lovely treats, packs of mcvities bisc, toffee apple cake (not something I would usually buy but will make a great cheap pudding, expensive popcorn and crisps (that were cheap on aprroved), huge bottle of monin chocolate sauce (just having a l0vely hot chocolate with cinamon flat bread (also from there), devon cereals cereal bars and kellogs choc rice crispie bars. On top of all that I got three fleece lined Bush Baby coats, one for each of the youngest DC, which sell for £40 each on Little Trekkers etc.

Can you tel how much love I have for the MNer who first mentioned the site Grin

Ooh I've never heard of this. Sounds great and they deliver. I've just looked up the website, I'll have a proper look and might place an order in next few days. Thank you!

It#s great. we've been using it for months.. got a great pantry now!

mrsbigwobblybottom · 05/03/2012 16:37

What's the scoop with the dates? On the website they quote often a year out of date.. I'm not that fussed about dates and regularly go over by a few weeks or even a month for dry stuff but a year... not sure I could do that. maybe theyre not acurate on there...?

ItWasThePenguins · 05/03/2012 17:35

Regularly they have a few months left/just at dates. Very rarely more than a few months over, and we've had nothing awful and no dodgy tummy.

I love it too. I'm using really old tea bags but they're such good quality that you'd never know the difference.

All of it was great, but I did find I was buying more treats than I normally would!

How do you get reduced postage? I noticed some items had a blue lorry next to them which I think means you get reduced postage if you include them in your order, but someone on the other thread mentioned they had it down to 25p, and somebody else's was free! Is this the same thing - using trigger items, or am I missing something?

redglow · 03/04/2012 21:55

How do they work out the postage is it done on weight.
