Our local branch has increased the cost of butter by 25% in one week!

I have also noticed that lots of other prices are now in line with or more than Sainsburys.

Presumably this is to fund its advertising campaign?

Really? I haven't noticed. My weekly shop there still 1/3 cheaper than asda.

I've noticed that Aldi and Lidl's prices seem to match the other supermarkets prices now - when they first opened in my area they were a lot cheaper, but not now

I did a big shop in Aldi a week or so ago and worked out that it was 2/3 the price of the same shop in Sainsbury. The butter in Aldi is £1.19 though, same as everywhere else.
