Due to ex leaving me I have, after all bills apart from extra heating, £62 a month to buy food and anything else I need.

Anyone got any advice on how the hell I am supposed to manage I already shop at LIDL.

But if I go to a debt advice agency doesn't that ruin my credit score?

Could you extend the term of your mortgage or go interest only for a while?

Yes it will, but what is more important? Feeding your child or having a perfect credit rating. Credit ratings improve over time, and anyway,if you have only £140 to feed and cloth yourself and your son for a month, you couldn't afford to borrow anyway.

I would suggest saving through a credit union anyway for those emergencies. Plus if something happens, you could get a loan from them in the future, at a fraction of the cost of any high street bank or lender, and they aren't as hung up on credit scores as the banks etc.

Some of us do survive without credit :o
