No spend January?

After he festive blowout and considering ive got some big bills in January, (MOT, car tax, insurance) I have decided to try a no frivlous spending month. There is nothing i really need to buy, (apart from new school jumper and coat for DS) .
So I will be taking my lunch to work every day,
I will avoid costas,
and i will limit my self to one bottle of wine per week
I will aim to spend £200.00 on food shop for the month
I will not go for leisurely stroll to the shops during my lunch break.

Any one else want to join in. ?

£3.75 today in the fabric shop on bondaweb (iron-on fusible stuff), ricrac and a couple of oddments from the offcuts bn. In my defence, I'm repairing the rips in DS1's jeans like this which is fun for him! Ricrac is white, for Monster Teeth. Grin

Need to go to library tomorrow and will, by then, owe 50p in fines, but couldn't face it today. I'm actually looking forward to my Aldi shop on saturday. Grin

Fessing up to a spend today. In my defense, as a pregnant woman cravings sometimes just overtake your life. To that end have bought maple syrup ($4) for pancakes. Blush

Also spent a further $5 on deodorant (also a must!!), Greek yogurt, bananas, and loaf of bread. I found out my baby is a boy as well Grin so spent $5 on a gorgeous Ralph Lauren romper from EBay should have been $45. I did plan to spend on one outfit when I found out what flavor the baby was, and it's from eBay so pretty chuffed.

I am still v pleased with overall spend this month. Smile

Fishpond · 19/01/2012 18:26

Ahhhh and my grandma has just given me $5 "just because" so you can cancel out the romper spend Grin

Lovely news fishy. Congratulations on finding out you are having a boy. Grin. And well done on your major find on Ebay...Ralph Lauren, no less. Excellent purchase. And what a lovely Grandma Grin. Also, I absolve you of any blame, whatsoever, for the maple syrup ... not only, as a pregnant woman are your exempt, but maple syrup should be available on prescription Grin.

Spent a mere 49p at the shop today (on maltesers for DS) but did spend £11.00 at the post office (Ebay sales again).
