Read a few mummies saying they spent hundred in next and boden sales.
They all seem to be households where only one parent works and have 4-5kids wonder whats their secret?

Do people have savings account for sales maybe?

I wont be looking at any clothes/non food sales apart from cards and wrap for next year and some reduced food.

griff31 are you me?
I also wonder how much people buy for Christmas and even more so on sales in January. I had a budget of £130 for all presents and started buying in September, most of it off ebay (new!). I had a budget of £50 for Christmas dinner and we did very well with turkey, homemade cake and sparkling cheapish wine from Tesco.
I have 2 preschool DC and even with decent salaries, we are just getting by.

I had already budgeted some money for the sales. I didnt spend hundreds but got a few things I needed or had my eye on.

Planning and more planning I buy all my Christmas presents in the january sales the year before and then so I end with presents for envy one for around £100

The weeks leading up tp cristmas I swap tesco for marks and sparks and buy the party food that's been reduced and pop it in the freezer l

Also from when the kids were young I didn't get I the habit of buying ££££££ worth go gifts they will get the main thing they asked for stocking fillers and a few bits

Most people leave it till December to do all their Christmas shopping and it ends up costing them grands

I just brought 15 christams cards from marks that were £4.89 for 50p

I spent about 2000 for Christmassp but we have. 4 dc and did everything we could this year. For some reason I really wanted to make it magical as we were all together . Did plan tho and worked extra shifts a lot at work and basically saved every penny and put it on the table literally and said to DH righto let's plan ! we enjoyed spending it and the dc saw us working hard beforehand to pay for it too !
