Replacement lenses for glasses - Today I surveyed the high street...

I have a new prescription for my glasses. Most the high street stores do "2 for 1 where one costs usually about £120". Having now bought 4 pairs of glasses and hating 3 of them I decided that I was not going to pay out all that money that I can barely afford and risk hating the next pair after wearing them for a week. So I decided the more economical option would be to replace the lens in the one pair of glasses I liked. So I walked up and down the high street to price up this option. The difference in costs really surprised me. Here is what I got quoted:

Specsavers - £39
Vision Express - £101
Boots Options (D&A) - £80
Local, non-chain shop - £90

So, I was wondering, does anyone know if there is anywhere cheaper?

If you only want lenses can you try online I'm sure there is something???

Also are you getting thinner lenses (my prescription makes me look like I have bottle tops if I don't get them thinned (and to the thinest possible!).

My prescription isn't that strong I don't think. My weakest eye is -2.00. Is that strong? It is slightly stronger than I had last time but when I went into each shop I showed them the same pair of glasses which due to the design I don't think they'd take a thick lens.
