Is anyone else noticing that class parties aren't happening this year? Is everyone feeling the pinch?

Just realised, as I'm planning my dd's birthday parties, neither of them have been to any this year. This time last year they had one a week. Is this a sign of the times?

I noticed this - thought we were suddenly unpopular :(

So am glad you mentioned it! :)

I did wonder that at first but turns out very few people are doing parties at all. I thought they might pan out for my 7 yr old, but I remember when my eldest was 3, every child in the nursery had a party. This year, none, absolutely ziltch.
Am quite pleased really, I could afford to do them but will save a fortune by following the current trend.

back to basics here - family tea party or a few friends round it seems. Thank god - one welcome casualty of the credit crunch is the overpriced 'soft -play' party IMO

and less expensive to attend weddings.
