Christmas Gift boxed goods not always cheaper

Im a bit fed up of seeing toiletties in boxes sold for much more than the items themselves which to me a a complete waste. With 3 for 2 then it makes more sence to buy the 3 and wrap in sellophane or pack in a nice box/basket that someone can use after.

Has anyone else seen rip offs or have good ideas where to save?

I used to wait until January and shop in Boots the chemist, as they always seemed to have a large amoutn of packaged goods left over and sold them at half price.

I would place everything I wanted equaly into two baskets - purchase the first basket full and then return to the till with my points card and the second basket which I often payed for entirley using my points card from Boots chemsit

then an place all items carefully in plastic bags to avoid dust and wait until next year to give as presents.

i have spent £40 and accuired over a £120 worth of presents this way.

it does mena you need to outlay the money in january but the sabings are great
