I’ve felt rough all weekend. Literally done nothing other than lay on the sofa or in bed. My head is banging and I’m very congested. Found an old Covid test in our medicine cupboard which I did last night and it’s come out as a very positive.

im taking regular paracetamol and ibuprofen, drinking lots of fluid but how long am I likely to feel so shite? I’ve got a big interview (teams) on Wednesday which I really need to be tip top for. And unfortunately I can’t change it.

You could well be feeling much better by then, but if you feel better before then you'd be wise to keep resting till after Wednesday.

If your temperature isn't unbearably high, maybe don't take paracetamol all the time to keep lowering it? Disclaimer, am not a doctor, but as high temps do help kill viruses then as I understand it it can help to not throw lots of paracetamol at a temperature if you can actually cope with it.

One thing that there was some evidence early on can possibly help with covid is some types of mouthwash, like Dentyl mouthwash (has to be the type you shake to mix) - it kills covid in your mouth after 30-40 seconds so that can just reduce the amount your body is dealing with a little if you do it a couple of times a day. Ventilate the room you're in well so you're not re-breathing in loads of covid, too.

Thank you. I am roasting hot but not sure it’s a fever IYSWIM. All windows are open. I will definitely give the mouth wash a go. Thank you
