But why would the Netherlands Government do this as I thought they were safe and effective? Strangely, no mention of this on the BBC.

Do you mean this?

What do you think the Dutch government has done?

I think your fact check seeks to misrepresent the situation based on a specific word. Bill Gates said that a court in the Netherlands does not have jurisdiction over him in this case as he is a US citizen. The court has ruled that they do indeed have jurisdiction, which means that Gates and others (individually and as a group) will now stand trial to find out if they deliberately misled about the safety and effectiveness of COVID vaccines. Whether Bill Gates attends trial is a matter for confirmation, but any ruling would still stand and become enforceable, even in his absense. He would of course have the right to appeal and verdict.

So the headline of my post is correct, Bill Gates and others ARE being taken to court by the Netherland Government.

Interesting too that the Tomson Reuters Foundation has in the past received funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. If you look into the structure of their various Reuters agencies, institutes, foundations etc, (part of which is Reuters news, who's fact check you linked to) there seems to be a tangled and complicated web of operations and obscure links and funders. Wonder who they are accountable to? Difficult to tell really. I wonder if this is also for tax purposes.

It's not my fact check, it's Reuters.

A Dutch court ruling that it has jurisdiction to hear civil claims against Bill Gates regarding COVID vaccines has been mischaracterized on social media as Gates having been “indicted” in the Netherlands.

Gates was wrong to think the Netherlands judicial system doesn't have jurisdiction. But this seems to be about a potential civil claim which is not remotely the same thing as 'being taken to court by the Netherland Government.'.

'Interesting' your link is to a tweet from Naomi Wolf 😂

It's not a specific word that's the issue. You, RFKjr and Wolf have wrongly claimed that the Dutch government is taking Gates to court. It is not.

Do you really not understand what a civil court case is? The clue is in the name - it's initiated by civilians.

No. By a few Dutch citizens.
