Did Covid affect your gums??

Random Q I know!
I'm pretty sure I have Covid (although I haven't taken a test as I don't have any in and haven't been anywhere anyway).
My son was unwell last week. He rarely catches our colds so it was a shock! Took him a good few days to settle down.
Then my gum became very inflamed around a tooth. A couple days later I thought I was having a hayfever attack but it quickly turned into a fever, cold and soar throat. Things escalated quickly and I became really breathless, went to the doctors and I've been given antibiotics as my right lung is now infected! What a palaver!
Started to feel better... but my gum is still inflamed! I wonder if it's related? I can't deal with the thought of a trip to the dentist after this past week 🙈
Anyone else had weird gums with covid?

Yes, mine got sensitive like they used to when I was ovulating. DH developed full on toothache and had a tooth out 2 days before he first tested positive, in 2022.

No, but almost every time I get a cold my gums get inflamed. This has happened since I was a child.

Corsodyl Mouthwash is a Godsend!

Ahhh yes I'm sure I can remember reading something about congestion and gums at some point, maybe it's just a cold thing!
I seem to have a weak spot in my gums that flares up every now and again so I guess it makes sense, Covid or not!
Hopefully the antibiotics for my chest will resolve any possible infection there 😬

Ooh if that's the case, I can thoroughly recommend Corsodyl toothpaste.

My husband has a weak spot and using that daily has really helped!

@nanafuada thank you for that!
I do have my check up next Monday so I'll definitely raise it then when I'm better :)
I do wonder why this bit of gum keeps getting flamed and worry there may be an issue!

I’ve had a toothache all weekend although couldn’t pinpoint which tooth, woke up this morning and toothache is gone but covid symptoms have started (confirmed by test just now). I’ve never had dental problems before so I’m definitely blaming the covid!
