Started feeling crap earlier today, just tested and two red lines. Not feeling amazing, but not feeling like death yet. How did this latest variant affect you?

Very sudden onset headache, later: temperature, fatigue, sneezing, cold symptoms, sinuses, brain fog, breathless.
Lasted exactly 2 weeks to the day.
Felt much worse (fatigue, debilitated) during the second week, before resolving fairly quickly.

I'm sorry you've tested positive! I hope it's not too bad for you x

if you look under the Covid heading (where you've posted) there are a couple of current threads so you can read various people experiences.

I've tested tonight as I have some symptoms, but my tests are out of date and are showing as a 'void' result, so I've ordered some to be delivered. I don't need to see anyone tomorrow, so I'll be 'isolating' tomorrow anyway.

best of luck with it x

Started with a sore throat, which then turned into more of a scratchy throat. Then I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. I also felt exhausted but also couldn't sleep. The other symptom was really bad sinus pain and earache. The usual loss of taste and smell. That was the main reason I tested because prior to that I just assumed I'd got a sinus infection. The biggest one for me though was the difficulty in breathing. It constantly felt like I was having a to fight for each breathe and one of nights my toes and toenail's went a bluish grey. Totally different to the first time round. The first time apart from feeling crap and aching all over the first couple of days. I spent the rest of the time feeling pissed off that I couldn't work for 10 days because I actually felt perfectly fine. This time I barely left my bed for 5 days.

Woke in the middle of the night, a week ago today, with the distinct feeling that a virus was invading my throat and nose. Was thousands of miles from home without my trusty First Defence so took paracetamol and tequila. Was up and down until Sunday evening when I realised my appetite had been switched off and I absolutely had to lie down. Really odd sensations in my head. Sneezed blood on Tuesday, slept for about twenty hours, tested positive this afternoon. Coughing, but not badly. Headache, weakness, everything hurts.

I went to bed with a bit of a sore throat and feeling coldy, woke the next morning feeling like death and couldn't get out of bed for 10 days. I'm still utterly exhausted another 7 weeks later, have no appetite, can't walk for than 5 mins etc etc. I seriously hope this will start lifting soon, I just can't afford long covid.

Day 1 - hayfever symptoms
Day 2 - same plus violently sore throat
day 3 - add a dry cough
day 4 - cough turned wet, sore throat subsided
day 5 (today) - hayfever symptoms finally gone, still no sense of smell, chunky wet cough

Sad I'm so sorry people seem to be having such a bad experience with this variant. It's a right little bastard.

My timeline was short and not as bad as some here. Day 0 - scratchy throat. Day 1 - sore throat, tired, muscle aches starting, nose running, cough with phlegm that came out of nowhere. Day 2 - all that plus dizzy, headaches, earaches, spaced-out, and slight fever (I don't run hot). And so it went. On day 3 I had to fly home (!) but managed it on strong coffee, paracetamol, masks and adrenalin. Went straight to bed and stayed there through days 3-6. Avoided the two household members who hadn't travelled with us. Day 7, feeling well enough to be up and about in the house. Day 8, tested negative and continued to do so. By about day 12 I did a stint at a volunteer thing I was on rota for but left early as feeling a bit rubbish. I continued to feel really tired, dizzy and spaced-out for a good while - I'm on about day 16 now and I'm still really tired and a bit wobbly at times.
