Every Covid symptom but test negative

I’ve got every symptom of the new FLiRT variant, i first had symptoms on Friday, and today Tuesday I have done two lateral flow test and both were negative.
I had the flu vaccine last September, any thoughts what else it could be?

What are those symptoms? I have a dull headache and utterly tired but nothing else. Two negative tests. I think it can be possible to have a false negative, and also that other viruses are possible.

It's hard to say, isn't it?

Lateral flow tests can miss about half of positives, and you may also need to test for a bit longer than five days to see a positive.

Might it be a different virus?
With most covid variants the symptoms were fairly generic cold/viral symptoms although I'm not sure if FLiRT is different

My son's just recovered from a virus that seemed exactly what you'd expect from COVID, including totally losing all sense of smell and taste for a couple of weeks. He would drink a strong black coffee and say it could pass for water if it wasn't for the colour. He even chose to eat various healthy foods that he really hates, saying he might as well make the most of not having any sense of taste to get the extra nutrients, lol!

He had the flu shot in late November but I've no idea how long that protects for, or whether you can lose your taste and smell with flu?

Even when his symptoms were at their worst, and using only barely out of date tests, he never tested positive.

If it wasn't COVID, it did a damn good impersonation!😀

A bad cold or the old fashioned flu, another virus doing the rounds. Not sure what I've just had but it wasn't very nice and lingered on.
