Avian flu

This past few days I have been feeling groggy for the first time in a long time, symptoms as follows:

Sore head
Achy joints
Slight cough
Appetite ok
No vomiting
Tossing and turning at night
Passing wind often at night

With avian flu doing the rounds in the media and hearing friends say they've been ill, I can only guess this is what I've got. Paracetamol and ibuprofen have given me relief thankfully.

Can anyone else relate?

Ps - pic for attention

Avian flu is a disease of birds. The outbreak is amongst battery hens.

Ermm - no you don't have avian flu! Plenty of other viruses to be had, however.

GlomOfNit · 09/07/2024 18:21

Mmm. Are you a gannet, or perhaps a guillemot?

Not sure where you got the idea that avian flu causes excessive chicken farting, but no, you don't have avian flu. It's probably a cold, or covid.

I have a headache at the moment, and very tired. Hint of a sore throat. No idea what it is. I never get headaches. Covid test negative.

I've been ill a few days.
I can't breathe lying down now trying to sleep. Aches & pains. It's annoying me. A lot.

I've had mines now for two weeks

It's like a combination of COVID and a bad hey fever

Started taking ivermectin yesterday to try and clear it up 👍🏻

Will report back on progress

Ivermectin? That won't help! If you have Covid then Paxlovid would be the ideal thing to take, but only useful if you start if in the first couple of days. Of course trying to get hold of it in the UK is another matter, almost impossible.
