Day 16 new COVID strain

Omg I am getting fed up! Does anyone else have symptoms like this?

  • Runny nose
  • Constant headache
  • Sinus pressure
  • Fatigue *Brain fog *Slight cough with a little phlegm but nothing big And the weirdest one yet, tingling/like goosebump feeling especially over my shins? Wtf?

But no temperature, sore throat or body aches.

It's the most bizarre COVID virus I've had, I've had a quite a few as I work on a respiratory ward (I'm a nurse) but I honestly didn't think it was COVID as it normally hits me like a truck with symptoms subsided after a few days, but this seems to linger but isn't as bad iyswim? I just want to feel back to normal.

The only reason I took a test was because someone mentioned the new COVID strain having strange symptoms and boom it was positive!

@Tezz41

DD and I have a weird cold virus now. DD is on day 9. I'm on day 4.

Tons of runny snot
DD has had fevers on and off
Achy and generally feeling rubbish
Nausea/appetite down
Short of breath/wheezing

I'm asthmatic. DD isn't but used to get viral wheeze when she was a baby/toddler. She's wheezed quite a bit with this virus but her old Salbutamol inhaler is enough to stop it.

Hoping it's going to end soon as we've both had enough!

I tested myself for Covid on days 2 & 3 and both were negative.

I’ve got horrendous tinnitus in one ear, really worried that it won’t go.

Jimmychoo69 · 20/06/2024 11:06

So pleased I found this thread. I thought I had really bad hayfever, constant ear pain, sinus pain. Weird urinary symptoms and shin pain. I have been to a few functions in the last week so thought it was from wearing heels which I don’t normally wear. My husband felt sick last night, shaking, and generally off colour. Tested this morning and instant positive for COVID. Unfortunately I spent the day with my Mum on Monday and she is really poorly this morning. I feel ok today. Just really worried about my Mum now. She had her Spring booster so hopefully should be ok. Hope everyone feels better soon.

After feeling positive about my recovery at the start of the week, it's not been linear. Feeling horrendous now, and DS slept over night the past two nights (I had 7-7.5 hours per night). Doesn't make sense to be going backwards.
Day 6....

Starfish125 · 20/06/2024 23:27

Well it's been 4 weeks now and I am starting to feel bad to normal, the muggy/fuzzy head has gone which was the worst tbh I felt half drunk and it was really horrible. I still have a very slight left sided headache but it's not there everyday and my nose is still running! The shins are still to tingling but not as much as before, how long did tingly legs last with anyone who's had it?

Glad you are starting to recover.
I have just recovered from covid. I had it last week. Felt bad but I managed to work.
However I still have no taste, have been left with tinnitus and seem to be suffering from constant clammy hands. I have never been a clammy hand person so its quite aggravating. But just glad I don't feel like crap now.

This is good news. Also, encouraging for me as I am still symptomatic and still testing positive on day 21... It's mostly hitting my lungs still and nose running. Hope your legs normalise soon!

I've had Covid three times previously and had mild symptoms. HCP and I have had all the vaccinations apart from the spring booster. I'm fit and healthy and pretty much never get ill. But I've got Covid now and have never felt so ill. So glad I found this thread.

Started with sore throat
Then mild cold and aches and some sinus pain I was working day 3 and thought I was on the mend.

Yesterday felt really off (day 5) and so tested, instantly positive
Day 6 today and this is the worst day so far;
Horrendous brain fog
Heaviness in head
Aches
Goosebumps coming and going
Ear ache and wooshing in ears
And everything aches
Feeling very sick
Metallic taste in mouth and next to no sense of smell.
Interestingly my teenage son and daughter and husband had mild symptoms and it just seems to have hit me really badly, normally I'm the one who shrugs viruses off and they all get worst symptoms
Wishing everyone who is also suffering a speedy recovery

How long did people end up having this for? I'm on day 20 feeling bad still.
Hope everyone recovered
