Bad eyes?

I realise most people aren't bothering with covid testing these days but has anyone had a virus lately that includes conjunctivitis? Two family members (who haven't seen each other recently) have a bad cold type of illness along with infected eyes. Just wondered if it's the latest covid strain.

I have this. Worst cold/respiratory illness I can remember having. I haven't tested for COVID but did also wonder if it's the latest variant. What sets it apart from a normal cold is the bacterial conjunctivitis. It's a very mucus-y, sinus-y cold. It took about a week with mild symptoms then have been really ill for another week so far.

I and several other family members had conjunctivitis with COVID back in 2021 so it's been around for a while.

It is a symptom of Covid (and other viruses) so could be. We are just entering another wave of Covid so I’d take a guess that anything that makes you feel awful respiratory wise at this time of year is more likely Covid than not.

DH and I both had it but I tested negative the 4 or 5 times I tested so I gave up after that and he didn't bother testing. I saw the doctor as I had a rattly throaty cough and they didn't even mention covid.

This is strange, I recently got unwell, sore throat ,'burning nose etc and noticed that there looks like a sty developing on one of my eyes 🤔

Tested positive yesterday and alongside heavy cold and breathlessness, another symptom has been incredibly dry and very sore eyes. Constant twitch in one of them even when I’m trying to sleep which is driving me potty!
