Bit of a weird one but several people I know recently have had covid them recovered only to then get something identical to covid again one or two weeks later (no longer testing negative and fine inbetween). Now it’s happening to me, I had covid quote mild then was totally fine, went back to the gym etc and then just woke up suddenly a few days ago with a really sore throat, headache, temp, aches etc… then thought it was getting better now feel absolutely awful with what feels like is turning into a chest infection. I had just over a week inbetween where I was totally fine. I get this is something else but has any else got ill again straight after covid???

Yes, this is my DH right now. Tested positive for Covid 30th Jan and now ill again already with coughing and temperature.

Yes DH is like this, ok for a couple of days and then poorly again. He is in his 4th week now.

We've had a similar issue, was poorly.. as was both DC then we all sort of recovered! Around a week later we've all gone down with this much worse than the first round one by one!! 🥴

Yes, this exactly. I (presumably) had Covid in early February - all members of my team had it with positive tests, we’d socialised in the days prior and I was very sick at the same time, but didn’t get a positive.

Two weeks later I’ve been knocked on the head by a horrible virus that comes with a nasty cough. I hadn’t really gotten over the first virus so now I feel absolutely vile most days and hoping it wears off soon.

So strange… I’m a lot more unwell with this virus than I was with covid it’s turning into a really nasty cough after lingering in my throat and chest for a few days with a banging headache. It’s just weird how it’s the same pattern for so many of us. I even looked at it maybe being rebound covid as the symptoms are so similar but test is of course negative now. Really weird

For us I think it's now flu! Coughing, cold symptoms, body aches, fever, no appetite.

dancinginthewind · 22/02/2024 07:41

Oooohhh... I think this is me. Ill for last two weeks in Jan (didn't test but presumed it was Covid). Still had a lingering cough but was beginning to feel better and started exercising properly this week. Work up yesterday feeling a bit odd and then started coughing, sneezing and generally feeling rubbish as the day went on.
I don't have time for this! I pushed a load of deadlines back when I was last ill so now they have concertina'd and I am going to be insanely busy with work for the next week. I'm still not on top of all of the stuff around the house. And my pelvic floor really can't handle any more of this!

I think COVID is going to hammer your immune system and when you go back into every day activities you're might be more susceptible to every other bugs going around.

But then I remember in the early days of the COVID pandemic and everyone was petrified of covid. There was an English expat in China talking on YouTube about his experience of having covid. He said he came down with an illness and then it appeared as of he was getting better for a few days and then it came back and hit him hard.

Maybe that's what covid does coming and going.

Like everyone else, covid faded into the background with me but after reading this thread I think it's still a virus to be wary about.

Same, horrid bug in January, cough finally gone then DH kindly came home with Covid (pos tests) and 3 days later I got it and am floored. Never felt so unwell for so long. Been having temps at night 100-102, rapid hb and O2 levels 94-95%. Raging sore throat, awful cough and sleeping so much.
