Guilt

I hate the mum guilt that comes with long covid - anyone else? Also find losing patience with people when I tell them my limits and they try to persuade me otherwise.

I sometimes want to scream that I'm not choosing this life and I'm also fed up I can't do things I want to do - and that my kids miss out. Beyond time and hope, there seems fuck all that can cure it. I can't magic it away.

I’m just so sorry. I have had it too and I am better now (4 years on) but I wanted to tell you it gets better because it does. I was very poorly for 2 years then gradually got better. I’m mostly totally fine now and certainly a very capable mum again.

iI actually now work with people recovering because it just made me so grateful for my recovery I want to help others. It’s utterly shit and nobody can understand really unless they’ve had it or ME in my opinion.

But keep going - it gets easier. Also get yourself on Instagram and follow those who are recovering - you need hope and there are lots of things you can do to help your recovery, I don’t say that lightly. There’s no quick fix but that are things that helped me.
