I tested positive last night, been feeling really off for a couple of days but yesterday felt worse.

Woke up this morning feeling really quite dreadful. Can’t get out of bed.

Will this get worse? I really hope not.

I am immune compromised so being cautious. Need to decide if I will have antiviral.

Had covid January 2022 and not as ill as this.

Days 2 and 3 were the worst although it sounds like you have it worse than me. But it's going away faster than last time, if that cheers you up at all!

What are your symptoms?

get well soon!

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 12/02/2024 09:33

Oh no really!! I don’t want to feel any worse 🤦🏼‍♀️.

But it is good it’s going away faster 😊.

My symptoms are very sore throat, cough, headache, backache, stiff neck, nausea, hot and cold but no temperature, restlessness legs, acid reflux, bit constipated (strange for me as I have ulcerative colitis).

Just feel quite ‘ill’ if that makes sense.

Hope you are back to normal very soon

It sounds like you tested later than me so this might be the worst day for you. I had almost exactly the same symptoms. Some strepsils with an anaesthetic effect and hot salty water helped the throat. Apart from that, back to bed and sleep it off if you can!

I felt better quickly, hope you do too. I'm still testing positive though and a bit tired so not back to work yet. Win win I say 😂

Shivermetimbers13 · 12/02/2024 11:18

Sorry you are not feeling well, covid is awful. Try to stay in bed as much as possible and take paracetamol for your sore throat.
I have just tested negative but still very tired. I hope you feel better soon.

I tested positive on Thursday and today is the first day I’ve been able to get out of bed and do light chores- load dishwasher etc.

I’m immunocompromised and took Paxlovid and it definitely helped me feel better- last time I had Covid I was in bed for 2 weeks. Took a lot of arguing to get it though.

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 12/02/2024 12:06

Covid really knocks you doesn’t it!!

Hope you all feel better really soon.

@Twilightstarbright I can’t remember the time frame to have the antiviral, can you remember?

@Bringonthesunforthewashing i think the first 5 days to be effective.

Moier · 12/02/2024 13:17

First time l had it ( pre vaccinations) was horrific.. worse illness of my life ..( hospitalised) 2nd 3rd and 4th a tad easier..
5th time last year.. horrific again.
But l am 65 with other medical health problems.
Everyone is different and l have long covid.

How are we all feeling?

Day 9 and I thought I'd feel fine by now, symptoms all gone a few days ago but I'm sooo tired 🙁

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 15/02/2024 00:38

Day 3, woke up feeling slightly better, about 2 hours later back in bed feeling terrible.

tbh, feel quite bad. My chest burns, so does my throat and nose.

I'm on day 6 and just starting to feel better. Had two to three days of feeling awful with a headache, sore throat and feeling sick and dizzy. I'm mainly now just tired, but not exhausted like I was a few days ago (picking up a teatowel I'd dropped was almost too much for me)

DD started last night with temp, feeling sick and dizzy and now has the cough. Poor bairn. I'm pleased that we didn't get it at the same time, though as at least I'm able to look after her now I'm feeling a lot better.

Opentooffers · 28/02/2024 23:17

2-3 days at peak of feeling crap with 2 days of gradually getting worse or better either side.

EeesandWhizz · 28/02/2024 23:27

7 days of feeling pretty shit and not doing much at all, head fog, earache, headache, sore throat, breathless, hot, cold, tired but couldn't sleep for coughing, no taste/smell, 7 days recovering but sleeping lots, then a further 2 weeks with a strangely uncomfortable tongue that felt odd and made it uncomfortable to eat and drink. Followed by another week of needing a nap every day.
