Covid and conjunctivitis

Just interested if anyone else has suffered bacterial conjunctivitis shortly after they got Covid? This time and last time, I seem to have gone down with a bacterial eye infection (which then responded to prescribed or pharmacy-bought eye drops for infected eye ).

Anyway, seems a bit odd as obviously the Covid itself is a virus, and so I just wondered if I am alone on this one as a linked symptom?

Yes!! I have this right now. How long did the eye drops take to work? My eyes are so sore and itchy

@Raggity19 - If it's bacterial (you get yellow sticky discharge in your eye, especially when waking up first thing) chloramphenicol from pharmacy can help.

But if no discharge it's likely to be viral and that won't work on it.

I found it felt a bit better after two days on treatment - and carried on with the drops for five (which you're meant to do to get fully rid of it).

Same here! Chloramphenicol eye drops worked after 3 days. I haven't got any COVID tests but it's definitely more than the usual cold. Stuffed up sinuses too.
