Do you keep testing?

Hello all, hope you are doing a bit better today.

On Sunday I was feeling pretty fit and well at first, but suddenly got an intense burning sensation in my chest. Within an hour or so I felt chilled to my bones, and developed nausea and diarrhoea, which carried on a couple of days. The chest burning went very quickly. I have had horrible nights with fever dreams and whole body jerks. Thankfully last night I slept better, but I am beyond exhausted.

Today I dragged some clothes on but couldn't manage my socks. DH put them on for me and he has managed to put one on inside out. I keep looking at it and wanting to set it right, but can't even summon up the energy!

Resting heart rate is 100, 130 if I go from sofa to loo. I have years of experience with CFS/ME, so know how to pace myself, but this doesn't respond to rest. I guess it is the body fighting infection.

The thing is I have tested 3 times now, Sunday, Monday, today, all negative. Am I being too hasty? I would like to know for sure so I can avoid vulnerable friends.

Thanks for any input.

It sounds like you're not well enough to leave the house regardless, so I wouldn't worry about infecting others.

It may be covid, it may not. Either way, you're clearly quite unwell (those symptoms sound grim), so just stay home and rest until you're better.

In your circumstances, I can't see that testing for covid is going to change anything one way or the other?

Thank goodness for the edit function - I didn't mean to end so abruptly! I hope you start feeling better soon, was how I meant to end!

Thanks Reviewing, I suppose it's more about getting friends to avoid us....need a cross on the door or something! We get quite a few who "just pop in" ;-)

When I had it I didn't test positive until day 5 or 6.

Hope you're feeling better.

Thanks Jade wow I'd better test again tomorrow. Thankfully things are slightly better now, heartrate down a bit, innards less delicate. But my goodness the fatigue is unreal. I've given up on getting dressed and haven't brushed my hair since Sunday!

It really doesn't matter if it's covid or not. You have a nasty virus so just tell people to steer clear, especially if they're vulnerable.

Agree Springing!
