Covid has ripped through our house this time. All four children very unwell, three days apart, each for about a week.

Nearly three year old started Friday 29 September vomiting. Fever, lethargic, off food, that went in a few days. Mild cough towards the end of week one, exhausted over last weekend. A bit brighter Monday Tuesday and showed signs of recovering, usual appetite etc.

Wednesday cough started, progressively got worse. Today barking cough, chesty sounding, white as a sheet, tested out of frustration, clear positive.

So that's over two weeks since first positive.

She's only little but feeling awful.

What stage do I panic about this?

She is prone to croup, doesn't sound like that yet.

With the barking cough, and tendency to croup, I’d be ringing 111.
Is she eating/drinking/sleeping/playing normally ?

WanderingAroundintheLark · 14/10/2023 16:06

111 for this as in second week.

Make sure you tell them the first covid positive date, as she’s past the ‘isolation’ time now.

Her eating drinking playing was normal Tuesday this week.

She's bright enough at moment, just this cough. I do have steroid for croup as very rural and she's prone but I don't think she's seal like yet.

Yes entering third week really.

Does she have a fever? Could be secondary bacterial infection.
