Around 1st September I had swollen glands, then a few days later sudden onset of sore throat and sore right eye with weird blistery red rash on upper waterline. Eye and throat came on at exactly the same time, as if someone had chucked dust in my face. Developed a bad cough, fever, other typical covid symptoms but tested negative three times, until day four, then I stopped testing.
Around 1st October I came down with what seemed like a cold (tired, sniffly, only a mild cough this time, slight fever), tested faintly positive and was negative within a week. I still don't know if that positive was a new case of covid or a late bloomer from the earlier bug.
Both times I was crazy thirsty but didn't have any change in smell/taste with either bug.
This was my fourth coughing bug since Christmas (tested negative in December, positive in February, negative in September, positive in October) and third bout of covid and I guess I need to ring the GP to discuss the fact that the cough now doesn't fully go away between bouts of illness. Haven't been ill so frequently since early childhood!
