Delayed period after covid?

I had covid the end of August/start September. As my symptoms were wearing off and I then tested negative for covid, I got my period, as expected, on 7th September. So my period arrived just as I was coming out of having covid.

My next period for October, was due on Thursday past. On Wednesday night, I felt so full of PMT that I went to bed at 6.30 pm fully expecting it to arrive the next day. My PMT is never that bad. It never arrived.

I generally have a reliable cycle of around 29 days. Have been like that for years, more or less. My period is very regular. Its so odd that I took a pregnancy test on the Friday, even though the chances were very slim. Negative.

Could it be covid? I'm almost 41. Perimenopause?

What's happening?

The first time I had covid it really messed up my cycle lengths for a good few months. Wasn't ttc at the time.

I'm the same position again now, getting over covid, sense of smell hasn't returned yet and a late period. This time we are ttc so it's really frustrating.

Like you, I have normal regular cycles. Going off my last experience, all I can do is to is wait it out. I will start LH testing in case I've skipped completely.

It's unbelievable that more information about this affect isn't readily available to women by now.

Thanks @Peach56 I'm 5 days late. Good job I'm not TTC and that I know for sure I'm not pregnant, or I would be up the the wall.

Apparently, it's, a side effect from Covid. There's some research out recently about this.

Hi all. So I'm on Day 13 of my late cycle.

I had sex with my husband last night, and it was nothing different to normal. I felt crampy during it and this morning have been bleeding. I'm quite sure it's coming from my cervix/womb due to the cramps and the fact I know I didn't get any kind of injury!

I have never had mid cycle bleeding in my entire life! Is this related to covid too?

Has anyone experienced this?

Hi OP the last time I had covid it messed up my cycles and then when my period returned I experienced similar to the cramps you recently described.

I had covid about 6 weeks ago. I'd just had my period as normal then had another one only 12 days after, very heavy and painful, plus flu type symptoms. Then the following day is when I tested positive for covid. So assuming that's why I suddenly had another period.

Period hasn't returned at all as yet. I usually only go about 22-23 days between periods so it's now quite late since that random second one. I'm on the pill and did a pregnancy test just to reassure myself, which was negative, but all this week had unusually sore achey nips and boobs, yet none of my other usual period signs. So I'm desperately hoping this is the onset of the period at last, and wondering did the covid somehow mess up my pill like it did my cycle or is it just taking a while to settle Confused

Thanks for responding.

Sorry you're going through it too!

My friend had covid at the same time as me in September, and never got her October period at all, while mine was late and then I got two 🙃
