How quickly did you catch it from your DC?

Dd started with symptoms last Sunday (7 days ago), initially a headache and high temperature. She tested positive on Tuesday (she didn’t test prior to that). We’ve not been isolating from her at all, just plenty of ventilation at home. Neither DH or I positive (nor any symptoms) yet. Just wondering whether we might avoid it, or if there’s still a high chance of getting it? We’re both 12 months past our previous bout and had boosters since then (me in Feb).

I know there’s no real way of predicting, but I’m desperately hoping we’ll be ok for a family event next weekend. If you’ve had it recently, how soon did you pick it up from your DC (or other household member)? Or did you escape it this time?

Sorry to hear that. Other way round, I've had it twice and neither time my kids got it from me.

I tested positive last weekend, DD2 tested positive on Thursday. DD1 and DH still negative so really difficult to predict.

Three days between each of us but I'm much better than kids were. Or have had it milder.

I must admit I was expecting we’d get it by about Wednesday or Thursday, so keeping cautiously optimistic that we may have dodged it this time around (I’ve probably jinxed it now!)

Noone caught it from DS1.
DS2 shared a room with him the night before his positive. I co-slept with my poorly tween for several nights.

When I got covid (from work) a year later, DH caught it but not the kids.
DS2 has never caught it, AKAIK.

DH got it in 2 days,me in 3.

DS had it recently and none of the rest of the household caught it from him

Well we’re now 12 days since DD first got symptoms (she’s now fully better), so I THINK we’ve escaped it!
