Covid and extremely heavy period

I've got Covid for the first time. My period was a couple of days late but now that it's arrived I'm taken aback by how heavy it is. I must be losing 4x more blood than I normally do. I've gone up a level of tampon absorbancy and on top of that I'm having to change it every 2-3 hours which is most unusual for me. It's slightly disconcerting.

Has anyone else experienced this with Covid?

Yes my daughter had Covid a few weeks ago and similarly, her period was late and also extremely heavy. She hadn’t experienced this before. I think it’s definitely related to Covid as I have heard of other cases where Covid has played havoc with menstrual cycles.

Thanks for replying. Did it last long? It seems unsustainable like this and I'm beginning to wonder at what point the amount of bleeding becomes a problem.
