Returning to work?

So I’m out of my ‘official’ five day isolation period. Due back to work tmro. I’m feeling a lot better but still have some sinus congestion and sporadic cough, which I know can linger. Chest and back very sore from left over coughing. Would you go back tmro? Maybe Wednesday go build my strength back again? But I feel awful missing work when I’m out of my contagious period. Any advice?! Thanks!

Whether you are contagious or not is a secondary question if you don’t yet feel well enough to go back - if you need an extra day to get well, you need an extra day.

is working from home temporarily an option to help you get back to full strength?

Hope you are feeling better soon

Only you know if you can do your job whilst feeling as you do, can you work from home, do reduced hours for a day or two or take another day or day to try and recover some more. There’s nothing worse than going back too soon and having to ask if you can go home.

Many of us with long covid pushed through.

Did you also start another thread about this?

@SilverGlitterBaubles Yes as I didn’t know if this part of the forum was still active really.

If it helps, you're not necessarily past your contagious period at all, so as well as it probably being better for you not to push through it could also be better for your colleagues.

The five days is an arbitrary number of days they picked after which some people aren't contagious at all, but other people can still test positive for several days more.

It was roughly a third that weren't contagious after five days, but don't know what it is with new variant.

I thought noone was testing these days except some HCP so the 5 days really only applies to them surely.

JustAnotherRandom · 10/09/2023 22:07

Clearly people DO test.
