Anyone during covid infection and with long covid did you experience cold burning sensations on different parts of your body and also what feels like the wrong sensation?

For example last night different parts of my body felt almost cold and burning at the same time like someone had put toothpaste on them?

I also had damp hair when I when to sleep but it was like the sensation of the cold hair was over the top for what it was, so instead of just registering a cold damp feeling it also felt a bit burny. It's so odd and along with the fatigue it freaks me out a bit.

Does anyone know if it is neuropathy or could it be something else?

Ps I am seeing my gp soon so just feeling a bit alone with it all really rather than looking for medical advice etc.

How old are you? Have you started peri-menopause?

Noselikeyorkshirepud · 01/09/2023 08:51

I'm 39, not that I know of. @HRHTheDuchessOfBotox

Although I was going to ask the gp about that funnily enough because I have started to have some strange mood swings that are really different for me.

@YearoftheRabbit23 Thanks, I'll have a read of that.

Yup. It's been 2 1/2 years and still no better. Hands burn like I've been using a screwdriver for hours. Sensation of ice cold water running down legs while feet are on fire.
Cannot stand having wet hair, that's the worst one for me, unfortunately I also have hypermobile joints so using the hairdryer is a pain in the ass.

@ToxicPositivity So sorry, it's really horrible isn't it, you just don't feel like yourself, I don't anyway, fed up now. Trying to work now and it's like someone is pouring menthol on alternate parts of my body. Which probably doesn't sound that bad but along with headache and fatigue it's doing my head in now.

One of the worst things when i last had covid was even getting a shower was weird, it's not quite pain but it had to be very lukewarm; too cold and it burns and too hot and burns. It's so weird!!

The first time I had covid, early on in 2020, one of my symptoms was feeling as though my skin was burnt when I touched it on various parts of my body. It was one of the things that the Zoe app used to ask about so is definitely a thing.

I've had the burning thing almost constantly on forehead, bridge of nose and eyes (intermittently) for a year- with my eyes it's like somone has squirted minty air freshener in them (been to opticians and nothing) and also poked me in the eye with the mascara brush.
