Tested positive for covid. Was feeling a bit rough and wouldn't have normally tested, but didn't want to pass anything onto colleagues as work in critical infrastructure, and we were wiped out when covid first hit!

There's hardly any government guidance anymore apart from "try and stay home" 🙄. For those of you who have had more recent covid, how long did it take to get a negative test? But from what I've read, you can still be infectious even after testing negative 🤦🏻‍♀️

We had it recently and for various reasons had to keep testing. It was 11 days before I tested negative and 10 for DH. We were pretty ill despite all the boosters.

It's so frustrating. And I have much different symptoms to last time ( I know different variants might do this). I'm starving, but everything tastes like shit!

I have it too. It’s totally different this time and much much worse. I have fever, chills, aching joints, headaches, nausea, runny nose, sneezing fits, cough, sinus pain, jaw and teeth pain, earache, muted hearing and shortness of breath!

I’m isolating because I don’t Want my son or husband to get it - both currently negative.

My son starts Primary 1 on Wednesday and I’m so upset I could miss his first day at school! I might still go but mask up and let my husband take him in 😢

We are due on holiday in a matter of days and one of our party has just tested positive. We've all been together this weekend so now I'm totally on edge. Six years we've not had a holiday for and there's a possibility one or some of us could be sick over it.
So fed up

I've just had it and it wad pretty bad. On Day 9 now and starting to feel more normal. But still testing really strongly positive. I've isolated from family but was going to come out on Day 10. Not sure what to do now.

I've read a few things recently that suggest you're not infectious until symptoms start. That certainly seems to be the case with me as I spent 8 hours in the car with my family the day before I got ill and none of them caught it. But I did test and isolate as soon as I started to feel ill.

I have it too and am also pretty sick, with most of the same symptoms as radiantorange. Though my teeth and jaw are OK and instead I have increased heart rate and no voice!

Based on my experience I think the theory about not being infectious till you have symptoms might be right, moonberri. I am 99% certain I caught it from DH, but only got symptoms 5 days after his started (we mostly stayed apart but not entirely). We are 99% sure he caught it on a plane, and he first had symptoms 6 days after the plane trip.
