I first had covid 6 months ago. I was not that bad but it took about 2 weeks to recover. Two days ago I began to get what I would call covid symptoms. I have aching limbs and dont really feel like eating very much. Someone suggestedd I take a covid test so I went out in the pouring rain and bought a kit and came back and tested myself and it was negative. Now this evening I am getting a sore throat and have a slight cough. I guess that was because I went out in thunder and lightning rain to get a covid test kit.

I do not want to appear paranoyd but should I do another test? I will have to go out again to get another kit because the kit I bought only had one tjomg of solution. I did not realise this until I got home otherwise I would have bought two packs. The pharmacy said you cannot just take a test and trust that it is accurateee. He said do three tests and if all three are negative then you definatley just have the flue or a cold and its not covid

I’m finding this confusing. You’re testing to see if you have covid so you can isolate. But you’ve been to the pharmacy at least twice and mixing with other customers unmasked in order to buy tests. None of this makes any sense. You can definitely rule flu out of your list of possible illnesses. If you had flu you would feel too ill to leave the house.

I am popping out to the pharmacy. Not to buy more test kits but to collect a prescription. I am on regular medication and need to collect my repeat prescription. I have to then go to Sainsburys to get some food shopping because I currently dont have any food left. I could do an online shop but if I am going to my local Boots for my prescription it makes sense to go to Sansburys afterwards which is only next door and then stock up and I dont have to go out for a fewe days until I feel better

So it basically sounds like you’re going about your business as normal by circulating with customers and staff in Boots and Sainsburys while at the same time wondering if you have covid so you can isolate 🤷‍♀️

The reason I am bothered is that if it is covid i need to isolate and stay away from others

It's always a good idea to stay away from others when you have an infectious disease, not just because you have Covid.

What would you have done if your covid test was positive? You said it's selfish to go out with covid but you're going out with a different infectious illness

Well your test was negative anyway but why the big fuss, calling 111 etc just to go out anyway Confused

Phone Boots and ask them to drop the prescription round They offer that service when necessary for a fiver.

Also I would have done an online grocery shop and get the food delivered

More likely it is just that whatever virus you have is progressing. Thunder, lightning and rain don't make you sick

Yes and it has progressed further. I now feel very sick each time I try to eat and have eye aches, headache, ear ache, and body aches in places I never thought would ache. I am now also quite bunged up and feel a bit light headed

Oh boy.

It’s this thing called a cold. Makes you feel rotten for a few days or a week and then you get better. It’s been around a lot longer than Covid. Take a couple of paracetamol and get well soon.
