I just realised all my Covid travel passes have expired

Last month my covid passes went kaput. A strange feeling, so unreal that we went through all that.

They seem to refresh. Mine have expired a few times and are currently good until 7 November 2023. I haven’t had to use them in over a year though so it is unreal remembering travelling internationally, wearing a mask for 20hrs+ straight and going through public health queues at airports to show them before going through immigration and then customs when abroad.

Too the whole predeparture covid travel tests, the electronic passenger forms you had to submit and take copies with you. So happy that is behind us.

I'm so relieved all of that bollocks has disappeared.

You’ve just given me a little panic as I’m about to fly off on holiday and haven’t given COVID passes a second thought.

Totally surreal how our lives changed so much and so quickly. I miss the simplicity of my life then but hope we never have to restrict our kids’ lives ever again. The toll on youngsters just wasn’t worth it IMO.

Absurd that they were required in the first place. Still, glad that the authorities have decided covid has gone away now and we can all travel freely again.

I regularly travel to places with immunisation requirements so it wasn't ever a strange idea to me.

However I do remember the drama of having a holiday booked in barcelona then suddenly realising my app hadn't been updated to show I was vaccinated. My heart sunk like a stone Grin

On the NHS app they are updated to expire on Nov 2023 but when I add them to my wallet they go in the “expired” folder.

Just playing about really and having a bit of a wtf moment. I had a terrible time during the pandemic and am sure I am not the same person I was before. Like many others.

They haven’t decided it’s gone away, they’ve taken it off emergency footing because the vaccines work.
