Covid insomnia?

Hi all,

I have Covid at the moment, for the first time. I started with a sore throat late last week but didn't think much of it until on Monday I woke up aching all over and feeling hot/cold and sickly.

Since then I've barely been able to sleep. I thought the Monday night was because the Paracetamol I was taking didn't take the aches away, and an aching body and persistent headache kept me awake. I began to feel a bit better yesterday, though, but last night I had the same problem. I didn't manage to drop off at all until after 5am, and then only for a short time. I'm now sitting on the couch near the door waiting for a delivery that I don't want to miss, but still haven't dropped off.

Google suggests this can be a thing. Did it affect anybody here? If so, did it settle down?

I had this throughout covid. I hope it settles down for you.

I had it too. Some nights were unbearable with sort of shooting pains / weird sensations moving around my body. I’ve had this every time I’ve had Covid (3 times) but it’s been a bit less severe each time but it’s how I’ve been certain it was Covid before testing positive!

the good news is it only lasted a few nights each time. It’s awful but take the pain killers and melatonin helped me if you can get that too. It will pass but I know it’s horrid. If you need to just get up and watch TV / move around. The worst thing for me was my legs were painful but also restless. Horrible but it passed the last time in 3 days for me and overall it was much milder and didn’t linger. Take care.

Thanks, both of you. It's cleared up 👍
