I've not been well this week but no idea if it's Covid, I don't have any Covid tests to find out. I don't know anyone who tests for Covid anymore to be honest.

SpringIntoChaos · 13/03/2023 06:49

I tested positive on Saturday OP.

Saturday was really bad...I felt shocking! Woke up with the mother of all headaches and everything hurt...could barely get off the sofa. As well as the usual dripping nose, coughing and sneezing, and a sore throat, I had excruciating back pain.

Saturday night I started vomiting, and ended up just lying on the bathroom floor dry heaving, which was awful 😢

Sunday, the vomiting stopped and just felt crap! I did sleep a bit better though.

I've woken up this morning with what I'd describe as a very heavy cold and a bad cough...the back ache has gone, but still aching elsewhere. My headache is now just a dull ache, rather than the horrendous pain that Day 1 and 2 brought.

Still positive testing though and definitely not going into work.

Feel better soon 💐

Toomanyminifigs · 13/03/2023 09:06

I tested positive on Saturday too (third time for me). I went from feeling completely fine in the morning to horrendous within the space of an hour. We've still got tests in the house so I did one as I was supposed to be visiting in hospital the next day. I really didn't think it would be positive so I'm glad I did. I also assumed it was a heavy cold.

The headache is the worst. Painkillers not even touching it. For me, I'd say it's between a cold and flu. It's manageable. Symptoms seem to come and go throughout the day - aches, nausea, fever.

Get well soon everyone.

SpringIntoChaos · 13/03/2023 11:43

@Toomanyminifigs glad it's not just me with the nausea! This is my fourth dose of Covid, and the only one I've been vomiting. It was awful 🤢

Hope you feel better soon 👍

Toomanyminifigs · 13/03/2023 11:48

Thanks @SpringIntoChaos you too.

The first time I had covid the nausea was the WORST. I posted about it on here actually. It went on for weeks on and off. It was like really bad morning sickness. I couldn't eat properly for weeks. Annoyingly, I don't think I lost any weight though!

This virus is just so weird. Everyone seems to get different combinations of symptoms in a way I don't think you do with a cold or flu.

leafygarden · 14/03/2023 09:17

@SpringIntoChaos yuck - that sounds really grim. I had nausea /puking and diarrhoea on my covid in 2022. did lose 7 lbs in one week (!) I hope you're feeling better now.

@Toomanyminifigs I've got tests too as the government sent them in the post recently, as I have rheumatoid arthritis as well. also work for NHS with vulnerable patients, so have to test really.

It's been like a bad cold with an extra fever + headache for past 3 days. Not especially hungry.

Fingers crossed it's short lived, as I'd like to be back at work by Saturday.

I tested positive today for the first time ever! I have what feels like a bad cold - blocked nose, headache, cough. I've also had some breathlessness, which is the biggest concern as I have asthma.

Toomanyminifigs · 14/03/2023 14:23

I'm day 4 now and definitely starting to feel better. I've found Lemsip Max seems to help. As I've got so many tests at home that are about to go out of date, I have been testing daily and my positive line is definitely getting weaker. I'm hoping it will be clear by tomorrow/the next day.
Although I see on this board that some people are testing positive for 10-12 days!

@IceandIndigo I know it's hard but try not to panic. My brother's also just tested positive for the first time and he's asthmatic. I've been calling him to check on him and also to monitor how he sounds while talking. He's doing OK so far. Do you have people who can check up on you? Do you have an oximeter? I am feeling a bit breathless too when I'm going upstairs but I checked my oxygen levels and they're fine.

Splodgerbodgerbadger · 14/03/2023 14:26

I’ve been feeling rough since last Tuesday. My dose of medication from the hospital had just been upped so I put it down to that. I did a test late last week just to make sure and it was negative.

I did another one today as I still feel rough and I’m on immunosuppressants so have to be careful and it came back positive. I just feel like I’ve got a blocked up head and a bit of a rattly cough, go a bit hot and cold but mostly just tired out.

I first had it around exactly a year ago, feel a bit worse this time, but I wasn’t on immunosuppressants last time.

I hope everyone with it feels better soon.

Lotsofthingstoconsider · 14/03/2023 15:25

Started Sunday night with the chills. All day on sofa yesterday. Now in bed. Huge lymph nodes, sinusitis and temp.

IceandIndigo · 14/03/2023 16:01

I’ve just realised I’ve completely lost my sense of smell, it’s so weird.

popcornfrenzy · 15/03/2023 22:48

I tested positive on Sunday after having a very heavy cold and elbow ache. This is the second time I've had it and both times had the weird elbow ache!

Feel really bad having time off work but feel dreadful and would not like to pass this onto anyone else...

I think my boss was annoyed at me testing but a relative who I saw on Friday is having an operation this week and I wanted to make sure he tested before going in.

Get well soon everyone - I have back ache too which doesn't seem to be shifting...day 5 for me tomorrow Sad

JimJammies · 16/03/2023 04:23

I'm on day 6 today. I've had flashing lights and insomnia, anyone else?

Toomanyminifigs · 16/03/2023 16:33

I've just tested negative - after first testing positive on Saturday. I am still feeling quite 'washed out' and I now have ear ache. I've heard that ear infections/sinus problems can follow covid from a few people so I'm hoping it's not going to get any worse.

I had insomnia really badly the first 3 nights. I was waking up almost every hour.

I now know 2 family members and 3 friends who have covid after going months of not hearing about anyone who had it (although admittedly I imagine most people aren't testing any more).

Get well soon everyone. Fingers crossed it's short lived for you all.
