Yes same here. Had it this time last year too so that's two Christmasses in a row.

Merry Christmas!! 😆🙁🎄

Largethighsbadeyes · 25/12/2022 10:43

Not covid but DS started early hours with what I think is likely norovirus. We're supposed to be having my mum today and seeing all other family tomorrow. Chances are me and or OH will be going through it by then so Christmas is basically cancelled.

I'm so fucking upset and feel so sorry for my little boy

CarmenSanDiego2020 · 25/12/2022 21:17

Yes Covid here too for the first time for dh and myself. We were organised enough so kids had a good Xmas. Plenty food and new toys etc. No pressure to get kids to school or us work etc.

Beccalaaar · 25/12/2022 21:20

I came down with Covid yesterday lol only me in the household. I assumed I had caught my daughters cold and just tested as I work in care and low and behold it was a positive test!! 😌 2nd time I've had it since 2020 and it's the worst I've felt tbh

hellololabells2019 · 25/12/2022 21:29

Me and DH- first time we've had it!

AllOfThemWitches · 25/12/2022 21:30

I don't know. I'm blocked up with complete loss of smell which is exactly what happened when I had covid but it could just be because I'm blocked up right?

doyouwanticewiththat · 25/12/2022 23:00

Yes DD has it , so plans to have elderly relatives changed , felt really bad for them but took food to them and had short walk . Sitting around wearing masks hoping not to get it . She's well enough to want to be up and about ...

MeetPi · 26/12/2022 00:34

Yes, Covid Christmas here. Tested positive on Christmas Eve.

mrsharrisgoestoparis · 26/12/2022 00:49

Me too can't sleep with pains in my joints

LargeglassofRosePlease · 26/12/2022 00:58

Yes my husband has it . He’s on day 8. Is though but test still very positive yesterday. I feel a bit ropey now and D.C. too. It’s my husbands first time having it - we’ve had it once before in the early summer . Am wondering if we have immunity? Does anyone know?

OnSecondThoughts · 26/12/2022 01:06

I heard someone say you're immune for about 3 months after having Covid. But who knows, really? I think everyone is different. I had it in July, and have felt coldish/fluish on and off for several weeks now but tests all neg.

Skylab12 · 26/12/2022 11:00

I've just tested positive for the first time this morning. Was cleaning the toilet and couldn't smell the bleach, so strange! Last Monday I had 1 day of chills and then a sore throat for a few days but spent the whole time wondering if the kids had brought home strep so (stupidly) didn't test, now thinking today might not be my day 1. Due to see my inlaws tomorrow and my parents the day after so just going to test again tomorrow. Hope everyone gets to enjoy some of the holidays.

Mindymomo · 26/12/2022 11:06

I know a few people who have caught covid recently for the first time, 3 under 40’s and my cousin who is 70.

Stardustkid · 26/12/2022 11:11

DM got it, but the rest of us have awful colds but negative, we’re hoping to have Christmas part 2 in about a week. Covid can really do one!

JustDanceAddict · 26/12/2022 12:10

Sorry to all who have it this time of year. Poor DS is missing out on pre booked outing later too 😞 the annoying thing for him he’s probably well in himself enough to come if it was just a cold, but with covid you just can’t as it’s morally wrong.
he thinks he’s day 5 as his symptoms started on Thurs - thought it was a cold. still strong positive though.

JustDanceAddict · 26/12/2022 12:12

Ps: this is his 2nd time, first was beginning of the year. We have all had it once now / last one being me!

Yep! DH tested positive Christmas Eve so we cancelled my parents coming for Christmas lunch, then both DDs and I tested positive yesterday.

seoda24 · 26/12/2022 14:22

Tested positive Christmas Eve - second time having it . Had it January 1st year.
Feeling sorry for myself as was looking forward to the festive season .
Not as bad this time but a very annoying tickly cough and blocked up head .
Sending get well wishes

iwillnotstaycalm · 26/12/2022 14:53

Yup. Tested positive Christmas Day, wasn't feeling too bad, just felt like a cold - seems to be worse in the evenings. Very blocked and runny nose, I def have a low grade fever bc I'm sweating. Have had to put the air conditioner on. Eye is twitching and my armpit randomly hurts which I am wondering whether are my glands.

Merry Christmas to all

raffle · 26/12/2022 14:53

Yep, positive test on Friday, so all guests cancelled leaving the 4 of us with enough food/drink to feed an army. So pissed off.

LadyPenelope68 · 26/12/2022 14:54

Yea, tested positive Christmas Eve - 3rd Christmas in a row! Oh joy!

seoda24 · 26/12/2022 15:44

And not even a day off work 😂😂Enough food to feed an army …
On a serious note is it 7 days isolation or we must wait until a negative result ??
thanks folks

Covid for Xmas!! Anyone else?
seoda24 · 26/12/2022 19:35

Thank you so much . I never thought I would be looking this up again.
You actually forget it’s still out there until you test positive.
cheers x

Catinabeanbag · 26/12/2022 20:14

Yep.... thought it was a cold and put off going to family yesterday, hoping to go today when feeling a bit better. Dad asked us to do a test before we travelled (he's vulnerable)... lo and behold it was positive. Second time in five months. Definitely milder than when I had it in the summer, but still enough to make me sit on the sofa and do nothing for a few days!
