Too ill to attend booster jab but nobody to inform?

Am I missing something?
Hoping someone can clarify for me, please.

My booster appointment is at midday. I'm too ill with fever and need to let them know.

All NHS info re online booking tells me "As your appointment is today, we are unable to cancel your appointment. Please come back tomorrow to book a new appointment."

With NHS resources stretched to breaking point, it just seems wrong that they'll be wasting time/ assume I'm a no-show who couldn't be bothered.

Any advice?

DH had the same problem. We were abroad so he couldn't attend. He rang the local cottage hospital where the clinic was but they said they couldn't pass a message on even though they were within calling distance of the clinic which was on the other side of reception. Don't worry about it and rebook 🙂

Thanks. It really doesn't seem right, does it?
