Sore throat

I started with stinging sore throat on Monday, that got worse yesterday. So tested and it was postive. Today sore throat is nothing like i have had before, not helped by flem and coughing plus my mouth is sore. All food and drink stings so on a die of water!

I have had no high temp so far thankfully. I am taking paracetomol and Ibuprofen which helps for short time. Is there anything else i can try?

I find drinking milk is helpful for a sore throat: it coats the sore bits (and is also more nutritious than water, which is helpful if you can't eat). Hope you feel better soon.

Warmed milk with honey - a decent pure quality honey preferably. Before that, a gargle of salt water and tea tree helps, but don't swallow and its disgusting to taste, hence the milk and honey after!

Ps. Are you sure it's covid or are you guessing? I had this and it was the nasty flu thing, not covid.

They a positive test

My partner tested positive for covid on Monday, so when i started the hideous sore throat i did a test yesterday. My teen dd is now displaying symptoms.

I’m positive and also have the worst sore throat ever ☹️
I’m alternating lemsip and ibuprofen.
numbing throat spray and salt water gargles.
I had to resort to codeine yesterday but nothing makes much difference.
think I have a sinus infection too.

Husband had mouth ulcers to start and my mouth felt "sensitive " and throat a bit sore - orange juice was uncomfortable to drink. That's all.gone now. I feel pretty much OK but am staying isolated and binge watching movies to try and save everyone's Christmas.

Whether it will work, I don't know

My main symptom is a very scratchy sore throat! I have been non stop sucking on Jakemans chest & throat sweets, they really help. Plus paracetamol. Vicks Vaporub. Hoping this gets better tomorrow.
