What's everyone's covid symptoms at the moment?

I've never had it and tbh I avoid the news and don't really follow anything about it anymore.

I'm coming down with a cold, achy, cough and I've just gone really dizzy and tingly and my heart felt funny whilst sat down.

I‘m on day 5 - first timer.

I felt a little sore/dry in the throat when I woke up the first day but thought nothing if it. Kid started sneezing and coughing and I knew I was in for it. Sure enough, midnight that night I woke with the most bizarre all over headache that I can’t quite describe but there was a metallic sensation all over my head that I’ve never experienced before, and the usual dead inside feeling you get with flu.

I managed to get back to sleep on and off but when I woke up I vomited a couple of times and couldn’t keep water down (adding squash helped). Took cold and flu tablets and spent the day feeling up and down, sick and tired. Really quite dizzy, achey eyes and funny stuttering vision when I moved my eyes.

Day 2 was much better. No flu or weird symptoms, just feeling congested in sinus, but if an inflamed throat and a bit tired, helped massively by cold and flu.

Day 3 just congested like a heavy cold
Day 4 little dry irritating cough started but it’s not terrible
day 5 No worse, no better in terms of congestion but loads more energy

I’m hoping for a huge improvement and hopefully negative test tomorrow as I’ve shed loads to do!!

I've tested positive today. DH and I both started with sore sinuses about a week ago and I had that sort of tingly feeling in the back of my nose that you get when you're in for a cold but it never came to anything. DH got a lot worse suddenly on Monday, lots of phlegm, coughing all night long but tested negative and then positive on Tuesday night. He's had a sore throat and wanted to sleep a lot. I've spent the last 2 nights sweating, putting the hot water bottle out and pushing the duvet off me then freezing and getting the bottle back in and the duvet back on, then sweating again, all night long. My sinus pain today has got a lot worse and I feel completely wiped out. I have a sore throat now and I've had a slightly sore chest the last 2 days, mostly when I breathe in, and a slightly sore wheeze. I tested negative yesterday and positive today. I feel quite wobbly and weak when I try to do anything.

Tested positive on Saturday. Nothing much happened until Monday morning - I only tested because DH was positive. I've ended up the worse of the two....

Horrendous insomnia, waking up when AI do drop off and unable to go back to sleep, I think I've had 12hrs in 4 nights. Shaking, sweating, coughing, sinuses blocked and it's making all my teeth hurt, headache that won't shift.... I've called in sick all week as I am not functioning well. Not lost taste, but couldn't smell Olbas Oil in the bottle for a day or so.

And I had the booster jab only a few weeks ago! If this is me less seriously ill because of the injections, then I dread to think how unwell I might have been otherwise.

I've been ready to go back to bed since 6pm.

Oh, I'm breathless as well. Keep catching my breath when I'm just sitting still.

Glitterblue · 16/12/2022 03:42

I'm currently awake with sinus pain, earache, a sore throat and a headache. The headache was a lot worse when I came to bed than it is now, thankfully. I took some night nurse at bedtime, it's done nothing about the blocked nose and pain but at least my temperature seems to have settled down, I've not had the sweating and shivering that I've had the last 2 nights. My whole face hurts, my teeth, my cheek bones.....and my eyeballs feel weird. I need to get up to get some more water and it's such a thought to move!

It's a year since we had our last vaccine, we're not in the age group for the next booster. DD has had one vaccine so I hope that'll have protected her at least a bit. She's still negative. She's had covid before- she had it last autumn when it was going round her class - but it's the first time for DH and me.

I had no symptoms with COVID when I tested positive. I am feeling that after affects, headachy most the time, it's driving me nuts.

Day 6 - thick congestion and annoying thickly cough

Test today was still positive but much fainter and took a while to show up.

@Glitterblue The eye pain on day 1 was just the weirdest! Hope you feel better soon.

Whatevergetsyouthroughthenight · 16/12/2022 11:32

Day 6 here, feeling a little bit better today but an instant strong positive test this morning (I was hoping for a faint line to show a reduction in the viral load) so won’t be going anywhere for a while yet.

A very heavy cold really, nose runny/swollen, sore throat a bit better now, cough, but the sort of cold that makes you ache and not want to do anything, it’s a big effort to make tea/go to the loo. I have been in bed most of the week. Loss of appetite too.
