Had an e mail saying I might be suitable for treatments if I get covid, don’t know why?

I’ve had an email this afternoon saying I night be suitable for treatments if I get covid. I don’t know why, I’ve looked at the list of conditions and don’t have any of them. Any ideas?

It certainly looks legit, they have my name spelt correctly and my NHS number. No family history that puts me at risk. All I have is very mild asthma and a skin condition.

It says they are sending me a pack of test kits in the post so will see.

If it's psoriasis it's because of that.

It'll be some coding error, there were loads of them during shielding. Ignore. Unless you've just started taking new drugs that suppress your immune system.

No it’s not psoriasis it’s something called Sneddon Wilkinson’s disease I’ve had it all the time that covid has been around and they’ve not contacted me before.

Ah that’ll be it, didn’t even think, I started on mycophenolate mofetil in September which is an immunosuppressant, that will probably be it. I hadn’t realised that it meant you qualified for the treatments.

Yes it'll be the mycophenolate, it's an immunosuppressant and they'll want to keep an eye on you if you do get covid.

Just keep them posted with symptom progression etc if you test positive.

It’s because your records show you have asthma. You will get a testing kit which you use if a lateral flow shows you as positive. There is a number to ring, you send off the test and if it’s positive you will be sent a course of medication.

That's odd. I have asthma and am not on the list. I don't know anyone with asthma who is.

Asthma unless very severe doesn't get you covid antivirals. It's because the OP is on an immunosuppressant drug.

Well it was a legitimate email as I got a pack of covid tests in the post today.
