Tested positive yesterday. Sunday had a day of horrid fever/chills, 39c then much better yesterday, just mild cold symptoms. By evening took a turn, fever and chills again and now I've been up all night with agonising joints, headache and horrible head cold. Can't decide if I'm hot or cold, night sweats etc.
2 jabs + booster (mid 30s, not CV but have ME, hence the joint pain which always gets worse with a virus!)
I'm not concerned, I know it will pass. I just feel bloody miserable 🤣

So, what remedies did you use to make yourself feel better? I can't get comfortable in bed or settle my temperature. I've been taking 2 paracetamol every 6 or so hours which does seem to help for an hour or so...

Following. I have a horrific sore throat which is not helped by paracetamol or ibuprofen

Onedayatatime22 · 15/11/2022 10:14

Gargling oraldene helped me. Sore throat, chills and joint pain only lasted a couple of days followed by sinus pain and exhaustion like I've not experienced for years. Still positive on day 7. And still in my bed most of the day. 😰

Can you add in ibuprofen? Or codeine?

SophiaLarsen · 15/11/2022 11:04

I had bleeding gums last night when cleaning my teeth so I gargled corsydol. That was a mistake. Coughed so hard I almost hurled.

Today I had some soluble vitamin stuff and the bubbles hurt my throat and now I feel super nauseous. So I don't recommend that.

I try to limit ibuprofen as it aggravates my stomach, unfortunately. Very annoying as I know it's the best thing for my joint pain!

@SophiaLarsen ask the pharmacist for benzydamine hydrochloride mouthwash for your throat. That sorted mine, as nothing else was working.

Anyone suffered from vertigo as a result? I'm almost completely fine again except for being damned dizzy. I wonder if it's gone to my ears but there's no discomfort.

Paracetamol every 4 hours and an olbus oil nasal thing you put up your nose. Lots of tea and biscuits, no paracetamol with caffeine as it kept me awake.

My mum has suffered with vertigo since having Covid around 4 weeks ago. I now have blocked eustachian tubes from what they think could of been caused by covid. I get dizzy a lot.

My treatment regime for Covid (based me researching)
1- early symptoms - kill the virus where it might be replicating

  • Nose - saline rinse at least 3 x a day followed by antiviral nose spray.
  • Throat gargle- do this after each meal salt water followed by CPC mouthwash then a Difflam product.
  • Eyes- Saline eye wash before bed
All this in the hope of reducing viral load. Multi immunity vitamin daily.

2- Acute phase
Continue with above.
CBD oil and Nigella seed oil 2 x a day ( it felt like this helped with my breathing )
anti inflammatory diet plus pomegranate pineapple walnuts and plenty of rosemary
Reishi tea with a slice of lemon and teaspoon of local honey
Probiotic containing L Plantaris daily.

3 Post Covid
discontinue all the above if we’ll but keep a good diet.
Dont do too much in the first 6 weeks.
Try Nattokinase for fatigue one in the morning on an empty stomach
Continue using anti viral nose spray but also consider getting some wrap around glasses to wear the house if another household member starts to get poorly.

Ultra chloraseptic throat spray for sore throat and cough. Had COVID for third time. Used it last time after nothing helped with cough. This time used it from first day and not even coughed once.

Lucozade sports- drink it to help with fatigue and low blood pressure as result of COVID which is why so many are dizzy.

A proper hydration will also reduce fever. So keep sipping water/clear liquids along with paracetamol.
