Was this Covid or not?

Has anyone else had a similar thing? Had very mild cold symptoms on Sunday, was meeting a vulnerable relative so did a test and got a very faint positive (clear but faint). Cold symptoms were gone next day but same faint positive. Since then I’ve just had awful constant nausea and tiredness, but all have been tests negative. DD currently at uni and has been testing strongly positive for a week but with no symptoms (still positive). She wants to come home. Can I assume I have it already? Has anyone had just faint positives then all clear but still felt mildly unwell?

Might be the tests. Try a different packet. We’ve had similar with friends and when they used a different packet they went solid positive.

How faint? DS sometimes gets a faint grey line on one brand of tests, back when you could get PCRs they always came back negative. We try and use a different brand now.

pretty faint but definitely there! have also tested negative twice now and all 4 from the same pack.

Are you doing throat and nose or just nose? Given that you had more than one positive and felt unwell then yes I would say that's covid, despite the other negative results since.

You got a positive result and had symptoms, I’d assume you had covid.
