My daughter is 11yr old and had Covid not long time ago.
She felt ok within few days but lost sense of taste and smell.
She says everything tastes wrong for example fruit tastes like veg, milk tastes like water, chocolate like mud.
She refuses eat anything as apparently all food taste terrible, even her favourite pasta tastes like mud.
She can’t also smell well, very weakly could smell few strong perfumes.
In the swimming pool, there is usually very strong chlorine which used to makes us both sick, can’t smell at all.
I do worry now that this could be a permanent change, especially I read some medical articles about the damaged nasal cells from Covid healed too fast and wrongly and mismatched hence the wrong taste.
It was heartbreaking to hear that she told me today if this is what she will experience forever, to never enjoy any food anymore.
Anyone had this and their taste / smell came back?
